Project Summary
The Project called ‘EUROPE PLAYS MUSIC’ is based on the need of learning, the training, the compensatory measures and the vocational prospects detected on our students, teachers and the rest of our educative community. The context of our schools determines the teaching-learning school process. We notice migratory and immigration movements, an outstanding rise of the unemployment rate, the single-parent families tendency, the orphanage, students living with their grandparents, relatives or neighbours …because their parents are working abroad; students with special learning needs, disabled students, etc. The music has been used as an educative response and as a vocational prospect to or students, highlighting themselves and their backgrounds. It stands on the respect, the tolerance, the freedom and the attention to diversity. The main objectives accomplished were the following:-To carry out an inclusive musical project to create a learning community through the music.-To balance the social differences with equal interactions.-To give a future and vocational prospect.-To learn, use and develop the new technologies. 3.800 students (from different countries and social classes) participated but millions of people have benefited because our final output is: a web page. This web page will serve as an educational platform creating its own community. It is the ideal way to share a qualified and progressive education in order to enrich the learning and training process. The learning activities and experiences will be organized according to our students and their maximum fulfillment/participation.The activities shared a playful, amusing and positive approach, with an active methodology. The student is the leading character of its own learning and musical thought. The student diversity leads us to use constructivist and meaningful methodological strategies to achieve a really inclusive family-school project, a really inclusive society. The learning needs and framework have been flexible, supported by all school human resources (the therapeutic pedagogy teachers, Primary and Infant Education teachers, speech therapists, psychologists, physiotherapist, educators, nurse….). It is important to highlight the cross-curricular contents and their relation with the music. The first aim of this project has guided our students to achieve a fulfilled education with decisive challenging strategies. Other objectives were to enjoy and perform music, to learn about composers, music typologies, dancing and folklore. The creativity should be showed and developed in order to connect and understand this pluricultural, multicultural and intercultural society where we live. The music does not have frontiers; it communicates and unites the nations with an unique and universal language. Our students learnt and discovered about jobs and professions directly and non-directly related to the musical universe. Their New Technologies competence had been developed in order to guarantee their overcoming working and professional needs according to the European and International framework.Taking into account the ambitious perspective of this project, there haven been many outputs such as; blogs, videos, DVDs, didactic materials, festivals, musical instruments, scores, exhibitions, tutorials, musicals, hearings, concerts, performances, recitals, craftworks, etc. The great impact of this project had repercussions on the students, the teachers, the schools, the educative community and the external agents. It improved their living and learning conditions. It also caused optimized effects on the involved people and their contexts or situations. It enhanced their personal and professional future perspectives. This project reinforced the relations among the countries, their synergies, their musical and cultural associations and their local authorities, lasting in time and space. The inclusive, open and divulgative character of this project involves a double-way communicative process of the participating communities. We ensure the continuity of our output, the web page, thanks to the collaboration of the internal school committee of New Technologies, Erasmus+.
