Project Summary

“Teens against bullying” is a project to be conducted by teachers and pupils from 5 partner schools, situated in: Poland, Lithuania, Italy, Turkey and Hungary. The project has been created as a result of thorough observation and analysis of the needs and problems. All the participating schools come from different cultural and religious backgrounds. They have different socio economic conditions and their ways of lives vary. However, their students face similar problems.
Therefore, the project is focused on active participation of the students in social life and enabling them to organize a campaign counteracting bullying and discrimination in the school environment. The main aims of the project are:
– supporting the implementation of preventative and educational tasks of the school,
– prevention and counteraction of aggression and violence among teenagers,
– using and spreading the idea of peer prevention,
– developing competence in the field of the use of modern information technology,
– strengthening the cooperation between all members of school communities and the local governments,
– learning and teaching of foreign languages through unconventional measures and using them in practice,
– promoting creativity, social skills and inclusion.
The project will last 24 months and it will be directly attended by at least 100 students aged 15-19 and teachers from partner schools.
The pupils from participating countries will work together to create a tansnational preventive film, which will be their contribution to the fight against bullying and discrimination. The film will be created by involved students from scratch. They will work together to invent the plot and the screenplay, conduct auditions, do video editing and finally to present the film. The teachers will support them on every stage of cooperation. They will also develop a lesson plan involving the film and some follow up activities to be used in general educational classes. The plan will be incorporated into the partner schools curricula. Other activities planned to facilitate the achievement of objectives are:
– creating project website,
– project logo competition,
– scriptwriting, video recording and video editing workshops,
– film title and film poster competition,
– short-term exchanges of groups of pupils.
Various forms of cooperation will be used in the implementation of the project. We intend to use active teaching methods such as: brainstorming, staging, task-based method and the exposing method, or using the Internet to communicate with the participants from partner countries, which will be conducive to the development of students. Pupils will be able to exchange information, evaluate their artwork (logo and movie poster), discuss, deepen their knowledge of English, improve their skills in using information technology. They will also have the chance to show their countries to other EU citizens. Thanks to the fact that the main language used during the cooperation is English, participants will have the opportunity to use their skills in practice. We assume that this will increase their activity and motivation. Participants will gain new skills that will undoubtedly be useful in the future. We are deeply convinced that building new relationships between participants and an active form of cooperation will contribute to strengthening the relationship between them and our contact will be maintained after the end of the project. The implementation of planned activities will improve the educational values of all schools participating in the project. All of that will contribute to the promotion of counteraction bullying, violence and discrimination in local environments. Moreover, project meetings, discussions and workshops will raise teachers’ qualifications related to the educational work.
