Project Summary

In many countries, including MK, VET is still perceived as second-rate and reputation of VET institutions falls short of attractiveness. VET systems in Europe are heterogeneous and different countries are at different stages of developing attractive propositions. What is therefore needed is a system whereby people can follow through the process of qualification while moving from one learning context to another. ECVET thus aspires to be an information exchange tool to help individuals take full advantage of learning acquired, in particular as a result of transnational mobility, whether the context was formal, non-formal or informal. Within the European area, the disparate nature of vocational education and training, the large number and diversity of those involved and the differences in the national or sectoral systems of qualification, constitute one of the major challenges facing ECVET. The most important reasons for this are: lack of legal regulation, lack of communication and cooperation between education and training systems, uninformed and untrained providers, NQF mismatch with EQF, lack of a common description of units of learning outcomes and lack of common standards for assessment based on competence.
The aim of this project is to promote professional permeability and mobility in the health and social care sector by supporting the implementation of the ECVET instruments and principles.
Тhis project will be carried out by six partner organizations of which one is NGO and 5 are VET Schools/Institutes. The chosen partners possess substantial expertise in the fields of Vocational education and Training Delivery. Five of them, as VET providers and one as a non-governmental organization are in 4 different countries and have some knowledge and experiences in ECVET.
This project will help project partners and stakeholders, through trainings and workshops to get acquainted with the ECVET and the benefits of its implementation and it will contribute to launching an initiative to change national policies in this area.

Four workshops and four multiplier events will be organized.

C1 The first workshop will be used for presentation of the ECVET principles of each project partner. The partners that have integrated ECVET in their curricula will present the process and the benefits.
C2 The second workshop will start with the presentation of the report from the first workshop (C1). This workshop’s goal is the participants to be informed about the existing mobility projects and how to develop a successful mobility project. This will be done by presentation of good practices focusing on common methodology and procedures for project cycle management. Also, recommendations will be given by the participants which will be used for development of guidelines for projects in social and health care education (O2).
C3 The third workshop will start with the presentation of the Guide for mobility projects (O2). After that the participants will focus on the ECVET principles from educator’s perspective. The activity is connected with O3.
C4 The fourth workshop will start with the presentation of the Guide for educators (O3). After that the participants will focus on the ECVET principles from learner’s perspective. The participants will be introduced in depth with the principles and then will adopt them to the local context. During this best practices among participants will be shared. The activity is connected with O4.

These training will be helped and enforced by the planned Intellectual Outputs of the project that include:
О1 Analysis of the ECVET principles implementation
O2 Guideline for mobility projects in health and social care education developed
О3 Online Guideline for education providers
О4 Online Guideline for adult learners

The expected main outcomes of this project refer to the usage of ECVET and EUROPASS tools in Health and Social Care Education. We also expect increasing and expanding of the cooperation with the VET Schools/Institutions in the region and Europe by concluding partner agreements (Memoranda of Understanding) and Learning Agreements.
Having in mind the accumulated experience and expertise in the participating partners, the systematic approach and the vigorous project methodology, we believe that the successful implementation of this project will bring positive and long-lasting effects on the participating organisations, on the policy systems in which such actions are framed as well as on the organisations and persons directly or indirectly involved in the organised activities.
