Project Summary
This BLEND project was a great success for the students who were able to take advantage of the digital resources offered to them, as well as the educational, sports and artistic activities.
The feeling of belonging to the European community took on its full meaning through all these exchanges with our Italian, English, Spanish and Romanian partners.
For the teachers who knew nothing about European exchanges, perplexity quickly gave way to enthusiasm. During these 3 years, teamwork developed in each of our schools. We learned from our partners and were able to transmit our civic and republican values.
The place of our students with disabilities or in difficulty has been taken into account by each of the partners thanks to their effective participation in each of the proposed activities. The BLEND project has improved their situation because their motivation for school activities has been much greater.
The tasks accomplished required organization, coordination and teamwork. Thanks to observation and discussion, language teaching has become much more fun.
Access to new technologies has transformed the work of many teachers.
Participation in tasks and mobility has brought about a change in attitude among participating teachers. They became more receptive to the actions to be developed and encouraged implementation in the groups. Teacher motivation increased with the implementation of projects or teaching or training activities (formal or non-formal) after each mobility. The immediate benefits observed are: Motivation of the students Development of language skills in foreign languages Discovery of new teaching methods and other educational realities Contribution of the work and shared equipment, each one contributing to the group in each task This motivation of the teachers is measurable through the participation rate in the meetings concerning the project. The teachers asked for regular meetings to share their ideas and to follow the progress of the project The pedagogical practices and the exchange of resources during the mobility encouraged them to want to learn differently The participation of the teachers in the “training activity” motivated and enriched the concept they had about participating in this type of projects.
The observation of situations in each of the countries visited questioned and impacted our teaching practices.
Thanks to the observations of the visits, it was possible to apply other teaching methods interviewed during the mobilities,
to adopt and apply new work organizations, to pool resources especially for the teaching of English, to serenely evaluate our pedagogical practices
This project also made it possible to promote several important actions of the project around the duty of remembrance around the centenary of the armistice. Children were able to participate in the official ceremonies, others were filmed by a television channel, others were broadcast on the radio.
The parents accompanied their child during these 3 years and were always interested in this European exchange.
People coming from associations or local elected officials (the farandole association and elected officials of Paris) were able to bring their expertise for the realization of artistic and sporting activities.
