Project Summary

Nutrition, exercise and responsibility are key words of our project idea. This arose from the observation that in all participating schools the children and young people move more and more regularly, have to eat healthier and act more sustainably. In this context there are very relevant, forward-looking social issues: CO2 and waste reduction, resource conservation, alternative ecological agriculture, sustainable regional consumption, healthy nutrition and health promotion.

Teachers and pupils of the 5th and. 6th grade from Greece (Trikala), Italy (Palermo), Poland (Wroclaw) and Germany (Berlin) will be participating in the project.

The aim is to show alternatives to the sometimes harmful habits of children (high media consumption, little exercise in nature, fast food and a lack of environmental awareness) and to focus on learning content on the topics of environmental and resource protection, regional agriculture and sustainable consumption. All activities in the partner countries are action-oriented projects that promote positive experiences and lasting emotions to a high degree and thus break up and change behavior patterns. We think that is the only way to activate and improve healthy nutrition, environmental awareness and sustainability in everyday activities.
For this purpose, we create booklets and PowerPoint presentations (garbage collection campaigns, shopping behavior, joint cooking campaigns, Erasmus Gardens calendars), recipe books, memory games and dominos with a focus on healthy eating and sustainable consumption. At the beginning and at the end of the project, surveys on shopping behavior are collected. We hope that the participating students and teachers will integrate the experiences gained into everyday school life. The participating schools can continue the actions carried out (waste avoidance, tree planting, exercise games and nutrition workshops) and multiply them in different ways.
