Project Summary
The cultural context of our territory can be defined as being medium-low level compared to the values of active citizenship, such as cooperation and inclusion. Families worry about the future of their children but they lack an open- minded mentality willing to share and accept cultural changes in a fast moving world.
In order to promote cultural growth it is necessary to start from people’s identity. Young people need to understand who they are, what their talents and future ambitions are so that they can turn them into concrete life projects.
The final goal is to help them find their place in the world and be active citizens whose work and wealth can be available to society.
The subjects involved in the project are: History, Sciences, Literature, Physical Education, Physics and Philosophy.
Goals:
-promoting the common values of active citizenship
-promoting intercultural dialogue
-promoting inclusion: knowledge and acceptance of diversity and tolerance in society
-promoting the creativity of young people, specifically in the social sphere to support the community -promoting key skills .
-promoting knowledge of foreign languages.
-promoting sport educational and social value. -promoting physical exercise to contribute to general well-being and to the improvement of people’s lifestyle .
-promoting sustainability .
There will be 5 participants: Italy, Spain, Romania, Germany, Norway
THEME: MY PLACE IN THE WORLD, BEING ACTIVE CITIZENS IN A CHANGING EUROPE.
-The project will be divided into the following points:
– getting to know each other thanks to emotional intelligence and coaching
– learning to live in society: working in team through the values of sport
-getting to know human body and its functions and learning how to take care of our wellness for a healthier life.
-reflecting on the relationship between man and nature on the importance to safeguard and protect it. (sustainability)
-promoting beauty in society: a model of active citizenship “Model of the Rione Sanità” in Naples
THE FINAL PRODUCT provides for the creation of “GAMES WITHOUT BORDERS”
METHODOLOGY: skill based didactics; informal learning:
-reading a book on the themes of the project: emotional intelligence;
sport values; body care; man and nature; beauty; man and society
– laboratories
-surveys
– Viewing films
– Interviews
– Realization of PPT .; prezi presentations, videos, charts
– Music and lyrics of a song entitled: “My place in the world”
– Games
ACTIVITIES PLANNED IN EACH COUNTRY:
– 2 walks in 2 different parks in the host city
– 2 workshops
– 3 excursions
– 2 training sessions for GAMES WITHOUT BORDERS ”
EXPECTED RESULTS
-increasing of intercultural connection and dialogue
-improvement in the level of competence of the Spanish language
– development of a more open- minded mentality aiming at accepting physical and cultural diversity.
-developing young people’s creativity in the social sphere to support the community
– improvement of key skills: cross-collaboration, creativity, innovative learning
– developing awareness of common values linked to active citizenship
– Increasing the development of the social values of sport
– Including people with disabilities in the project activities
– Increase the pleasure of doing outdoor activities
5 social groups will participate:
1) students between 14 and 18 years old
2) Physical education, Science, Physics, Literature teachers ; support teachers;
3) parents of pupils with disabilities
4) administrative staff
5)) public / private institutions
The desired OUTCOME and its possible benefits are:
1) improvement of competence based didactics for the schools involved in the project
2) Development of the project theme and some activities in the lessons of Science, Physical Education, History, Philosophy, School-work project
3) Organization of “GAMES WITHOUT BORDERS” with the participation of other local institutes
4) improvement in the level of proficiency of the Spanish language for pupils, professors, administrative staff who have participated in the language course and the DELE certification exam for the Spanish language
5) improvement of the intercultural dialogue of all participants in the project
6) developing the awareness of European values.
For the DIFFUSION of the project , a video of the “GAMES WITHOUT BORDERS” will be created and uploaded on the project page on the E-Twinning platform. The video will remain available to users of the platform.
The most important result to be achieved is that pupils acquire tools to learn to express their skills, that they learn from the values of sport to become active citizens and to live together in a fast moving world so as to achieve an increasingly more satisfactory human progress aware of everybody’s needs.
