Project Summary

SweDeTe is a student-teacher based project for 2 years. Sweden and Germany are facing an imminent crisis with the future supply of skills in the technical professions. Forecasts from the Swedish Industry Council point to a serious shortage of skilled labor in the future. The same worrying news is read on the German website WELT.de. Both countries have historically been prominent industrial nations and the welfare of the countries is built on the income that the industry has provided, and in order for the countries to be able to maintain the welfare they have and to work towards the UN global goal that benefits all EU citizens, it is important that we get the young people, both guys and girls, technically interested as well as getting them open early on for international contacts that cooperation in the EU entails.

The partnership has two primary objectives, one aimed at students and one aimed at teachers.
* Concerning the students; to equip them with both hard and soft skills : entrepreneurial approach, innovative and creative thinking, ability to collaborate and solve problems, insights into the UN’s global goals, understanding and curiosity for different cultures, knowledge of recycling and renewable energy sources and the importance of globalization for product development
* Concerning the teachers; Through the partnership, we want to develop collegial learning between teachers that more easily enables the above-mentioned knowledge of the students to be strengthened and that their curiosity for technology development is strengthened. Skilled and motivating teachers who are good role models in technology, science and mathematics are a decisive factor for young people’s ability to seek further education in technology education.

The target Groups and stakeholders of this Project are the students and the teachers that participate directly in the Project, other students and teachers whom likely gonna hear about the Project, local companies, other orginasation in the communities that are in the technical business and the families of the students.
The expected results are both tangible and non-tangible character. The tangible results are the commercial to promote technical education that the students make and their final product. lessonplans, the e-twinninggroup, the website, the two survey the students answeres and articles. Referring to the non-tangible results we expect the students to develop the hard and soft skills mentioned here above.

Two LTT activities are planed to take place in which the participating students get the possibility to explore and be equiped with the skills the Project aims to.

In the long term we aim at the recognitation of the Commercial about technical education will and our innovative lesson plan model as teaching will be spred around students in Europé throughout the e-twinninggroup and website. The Project will also contribute to a well-qualified and highly motivated workforce in Europé while employers will be able to access the workforce with the skills they need.
