Project Summary

New participatory and intercultural approaches to understanding culture, as well as educational actions aimed at fostering intercultural dialogue between students from an early age, will be encouraged between two French and Spanish bilingual schools.
In fact, since the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year, the Beauregard School teaching team has been working on a correspondence project with a Spanish elementary school in Aragon, Spain: Asunción Pañart Public school in Ainsa: French / Spanish bilingual school (identical effects, geographical location). The method, which involves all teachers (French: Spanish and bilingual from both schools), is divided into two different areas:
1-Creation of a paper and / or digital newspaper: a model worked jointly by the two schools 2 -The LVE Coherence: individual and collective (C3), collective (C2) and maternal:
The desired objectives and concrete results concerning the training of the person and the European citizen:
1.) By the knowledge acquired, civic education commits him to extend his reflection to othercommunities: the municipality, the nation, Europe and the world. Teachers introduce students to Spain and develop their students’ curiosity about the countries of the European Union concerning geography, culture and foreign language learning. They encourage direct contact (by letters, email or e-twinning) with other European and discovery classes.
2.) To develop language skills through teacher / teacher and student / student exchanges by settingup activities so that the student is a social participant performing tasks by interacting with others.
Relevance of the project:
– Bilingual journal circulated in Cycle 3 classes and presented to college classes
– Presentation of videos and presentation photos to other classes in the district and to parents
– Follow-up of the coherence and enrichment of the ENT in the schools
– Student video conference between France and Spain
– Presentation of the project and the classes to different media: at the beginning of the Europeanschool year.
– Personal travel journals and group travel blogs
– Extensions in the coming years with the arrival of Aragonese in France and other joint projects
Relevance of the specificity of the bilingualism of the 2 schools, through these exchanges and these bilingual movements will be worked through authentic learning activities. Students participate actively in projects that develop language skills by interacting with peers in other European countries.
Opening of the institution about Europe and citizenship.
To perpetuate this exchange over the long term and to make it evolve into other teaching contents: science, physical education as well as sports.
