Project Summary
Our pupils are the future generation and the next citizens of a great and unite Europe. We want to inspire the pupils to learn new things from various educational systems. This project will not only equip pupils with life skills, it will also encourage mutual respect and the ability to work with people from different cultures.
The main topics of our project are science, arts and ICT.
The idea of the project “Scan – Think – crEate – drAw – perforM” is how we can promote science subjects combined wwith art. Students from our schools will learn how to create, communicate and cooperate.
We are the teachers from schools located in six European countries with different languages, cultures, habits, believes, traditions and school organization. We can state that there is a big number of children with special needs and students coming from other countries with the language gaps, that need to be taught using lots of innovative methods in curricular and extracurricular activities.
We come from Hungary, Italy, Romania, Turkey, Poland and Estonia. We are teachers with different cultural backgrounds united by a big will to collaborate and improve: ICT and language skills, solidarity, democratic values and respect among participants. Participating students`age is 12-17. The number of students who are directly involved and participate in LTT activities is 63 but if schools find extra sources to support the project and with an agreement between all project partners, possibility for more travelling students can be given. The number of students involved in the project tasks and activities during the period is higher in each partner school as a lot of work will be done in teams and groups in each school. The number of accomanying teachers is 2 for each LTT activity and 3 teachers for Short-term joint staff training events. The number of participating teachers in the project is 40-50. The number of Polish participants in Short-term joint staff training events is smaller due to the situation in their school where it`s difficult to find substitude teachers for the period.
All of us have already had in the past the special opportunity to live the experience of partnership inside Comenius or Erasmus+ programs and thank to this amazing opportunities we have already seen the great results and impact of our last projects. All of us known that it is very important to encourage and promote the best teaching practice to draw out the best from all the young students in every country.
The strong point of our international collaboration is equal opportunities opened to different range of students with all the possible needs, human rights, collaboration and citizenship, traditions, emotions, creativity, art, universal languages and signs.
Doing the project tasks, we aim to prepare our students to become open-minded, creative, imaginative, sensitive to the others who have fewer opportunities and health problems, culture-conscious, healthy citizens and we intend to motivate them to active participation in social life, too. Through different tasks and activities we encourage students use creative approach to solve maths and science problems. The aim is to teach through teamwork and real-world based tasks and problems. It will raise interest in children and expected creative solutions will make the process of learning enjoyable. We give students the knowledge of ICT tools, coding, programing and robotics. Expected solutions and results will be achieved by using various ICT tools and equipment. This way we hope to improve our students` computer literacy and digital literacy. Know-how methods are used during the project.
Artistic performances and scientific experiments will help the community of pupils to access best results and improve their self-confidence; using technology devices and social networking will help students to know new friends, places, cultures and appreciate values such as peace, brotherhood and cultural knowledge.
Through the project’s activities students will acquire the knowledge regarding respect and responsibility for social values: family and community, natural and cultural environment. The entire learning process is organized as a non-formal teaching based on the place-based educational concept, which will include an experiential and cooperative learning approach, the project-based learning approach and ICT tools. Each topic of project the STEAM: is carefully selected, in the purpose to cover the acquisition of a large amount of knowledge. Longer term benefits involve language learning, practice of coding and programing, experience of international cooperation, experience of public performance and relations and communication. Also the ideas gained through the project are valuable in the future.
