Project Summary

The use of media, modernisation and industrialisation of our modern civilisation lead to an increase of problems concerning the human body. Our youth is getting more and more lazy when doing sports. They also develop a bad nutrition. Due to the fact that pupils pass most of their time at school, we have to initiate a reorientation. Pupils should realize that a healthy lifestyle in their everyday life is the prior goal of this project. The contents of the project shall lead to a rethinking of the pupils, so that their lifestyle will become healthier. A healthy lifestyle contains a good nutrition, an active everyday life and a good time management to avoid stress. Both school partners elaborate all these topics. At the BRG Kepler, pupils of the first class will be confrontated with a fitness programme which will be created by older pupils in a special course called “Sportbiologie”. Therefore, the first-class pupils will get “sport-buddies”, who will supervise them at the execution of the fitness programm. For this programme, the pupils should use the “dead” time of a lesson, for example the time between the ringing and the entering of the teacher in the classroom. We expect an increasing of the status of fitness and other health parameters like the body composition of the pupils. This project will be accompanied by the University of Graz (institute of sports science).
The progress of this project should gradually evolve. There will be two five-day mobilities. These mobilities will also ensure a great increase of the pupils’ linguistic skills. There will also be two long-term mobilities for each school. This project will set the starting shot of the development of a healthy school routine of everyday life. Both schools want to implement a wholesome arrangement which will prove oneself. This arrangement will be continue after the end of the project.
