Project Summary

During a mobility program for teachers (Erasmus KA1) to develop skills in CLIL (Teaching of a Subject Integrated into a Foreign Language) or CLIL (for Content and language Integrated learning) in June 2017, two teachers from the High school of Hustopece in the Czech Republic and a teacher from the Le Mans agricultural school in France met. Many common points emerged : our establishments are of a comparable size, have an audience of young people from rural areas, are beginning to develop CLIL teaching with an audience of young scientists to be convinced…and have a culture shared community, open to the outside. This training therefore gave rise to the idea of ​​discussing our emerging CLIL teaching practices.
When the Erasmus file was validated in the summer of 2019, the establishments felt ready to organize it from October. The first exchange took place during two intensive weeks: a week in Hustopece in the Czech Republic followed by a week in Rouillon in France. This exchange turned out to be a success which reinforced our hopes and created a dynamic that the COVID crisis did not extinguish: it just postponed it to October 2021 with a reinforced desire. Meeting the other is the best motivation for teaching the practice of languages, here the English language, while learning about the other: his territory and his way of learning in a high school.
