Project Summary

This school exchange grant will be coordinated by CRA Cubillos del Sil, a rural school which is located in the small town of Cubillos del Sil, in the northwest of the province of León, Spain. As partner schools we have Osnovna Skola Glina from Glina, Croatia and Monte Flor de Carnaxide College, Lisbon.
The schools have met in different ways: Osnovna Skola Glina of Glina, Croatia has been found through eTwinning and the Monte Flor de Carnaxide College, Lisbon through the CFIE (Inservice Teacher Training Centre) of our area, Ponferrada. With both schools we share the need to expand our methodology with new aspects that develop inclusiveness in the classroom and develop internationalization actions.

The objectives of the project are threefold:
-To promote inclusive education by reinforcing the European dimension of teaching.
-To enhance knowledge of the history and cultural heritage of other countries in order to value and respect it.
-To reinforce the methodology of each participating Educational Centre by introducing innovative aspects that improve the teaching-learning processes.

The participating students are Primary and Pre-school (3 to 12 years old), although those who will carry out the exchange will follow the established selection criteria and priority will be given to the participation of students in upper grades. All the students from the three schools will take part in the activities programmed for the two courses and will benefit from this experience which will be coordinated virtually through the eTwinning platform. One of the activities that serves as a logbook for the students is the “Travel Diary” where all the experiences and learnings are collected. Although it is a small number that will carry out the exchange, there will be days of dissemination and information for the entire educational community of the three schools.

The methodology will be based on learning how to learn, is focused on the students, they will develop tasks of cooperative and collaborative work through relevant topics and research work is carried out.
This grant represents a great personal enrichment for all participants and an exchange of knowledge with other educational realities thus promoting inclusive education to reinforce the European dimension of teaching and learning. By acquiring knowledge of the history and cultural heritage from other countries in order to value and respect it, we are promoting the development of key competences in a globalised way and through a unique experience, school exchange with Primary school pupils. By participating in this experience we are forming our students as European citizens, who think in a European way, who value and respect the linguistic and cultural diversity of different countries in an experiential way.
