Project Summary
School as foundation for a world without walls
School and society is increasingly shaped by a great diversity of people. More and more people have a migrant background and could enrich our society. But in the last few years it has become apparent that, in contrast, openness does not increase. On the contrary, stereotypes continue to exist and groups of society are limited, sometimes even in extremist scenes.
Against this background, this project is intended to build a foundation of intercultural competencies among the students so that walls in their minds are broken down and a good integration of all into societies is made possible. This goal is to be realized in the following steps:
1. The project participants deal with their own biographies and get to know very different other biographies.
2. Projects already carried out at the participating schools are presented and questioned.
3. Own modules for intercultural work are developed and tested.
4. Shared leisure activities and living in the respective host families promotes sensitization and the dismantling of stereotypes among the participants.
At the end of the project, the pupils and the teachers should act as multipliers at their home schools and thus disseminate the developed modules.
With schools from Poland, Turkey and Germany in attendance, a wide range of experiences and attitudes are expected, so that an active dialogue can be conducted. From each country eight students and two teachers will participate in this exchange project, during the project time three exchanges will take place at the different schools. For the teachers, two additional training courses are planned. The participating students and teachers work throughout the two-year project at their home schools for example in the form of working groups. The results and the workflow of the work phases are continuously adjusted to the eTwinning platform.
