Project Summary
The aim of our project”NEW GENERATION SCHOOLS IN THE LIGHT OF EDUCATION 4.0″ is to integrate Industry 4.0 components(Robotics,3D design,Virtual reality, etc.)into our education system and thus:
1)To serve the principle of reducing the failure rate in the 15-year age group to under 15% in the fields of Mathematics,Science and Reading in line with the ‘Inclusive Growth’ as discussed in the EU 2020 strategy
2)To enable the future’s techno-entrepreneurs to have the ability to see and recognize opportunities for their future
With our partners Slovenia,Portugal,Spain,Romania,Estonia,Turkey(as coordinator)6-LTT activities are planned
Our project will help to increase the academic success in STEM courses thanks to Industry 4.0 integrations; Robotics,3D Design,Virtual and Augmented Reality(VR,AR)and Drones. Our students and teachers are at the center of our project and our target groups are teachers, students, parents, schools and local community. When choosing our partners,we selected schools with the most suitable capacity to change the best practices in line with our project aim
In line with the EU2020 strategy, for the integration of our students in Education 4.0:
Spain, Lego WEDO and MBOT
Estonia, LEGO EV3
Slovenia, VEX robotics
Romania,3D design
Portugal, VR/AR
Turkey, Drone
will contribute with the above LTT activities.4 students and 2 teachers will participate in each mobility between the ages of 11-15.All our partners are of equal importance:
*Slovenia will share their national and international VEX robotic experiences and introduce successful training systems.
*Turkey will share their experiences about the Drone and espcopter, introduce the Turkish Education System.
*Portugal will share their national and international VR experiences and introduce the Portuguese Education System.
*Estonia will share their national and international LEGO EV3 experiences and introduce the Estonian Education system.
*Romania will share their national and international 3D printing experience and introduce the Romanian Education System.
*Spain is experienced in STEM projects. Our Spanish partner will share the WEDO,MBOT,coding and programming experiences in the Spanish Education System
In this direction,our aims are:
1-To serve the principle of reducing the failure rate in the 15-year age group to 15% in the fields of Mathematics,Science and Reading in line with the “Inclusive Growth “in the EU 2020 strategy
2-To enable participants to obtain 21st century skills.
3-To make students and teachers conscious about Tekno-Entrepreneurship,global market, maker activities
4-To enable the future techno-entrepreneurs to have the ability to see and recognize opportunities for their future and to develop themselves in the STEM field.
5-To encourage teachers to continue their professional development,to contribute to their career development.
6-To share existing applications and exchange information about Education 4.0.
7-Creating a dynamic and professional environment within the organization.
8-To achieve improved quality in the preparation, implementation and monitoring of projects at EU and international level
9-By using Industry 4.0 components(Robotics,3d printer,VR)in all courses to create awareness about the effects of education 4.0 in our lives
METHODOLOGY:Project-based learning methods will be used in the activities. To increase the success of STEM by taking the students to the center and to create the Education 4.0 in our schools, according to the requests and needs of our partners:
1-Meetings,seminars,webinars,discussions
2-Interactive workshops,competitions,brainstorming
3-Group works and individual studies
4-Observation forms,pre-test and post-tests,surveys,reports
5-Visits to science and technology organizations
6-Presentations and VR simulations
7-Cultural excursions and visits
will be performed.A total of 144 students and 72 teachers will actively participate in the 6 LTT activities that will be carried out under the guidance of teachers using project-based learning methods
ENVISAGED IMPACTS AND RESULTS
-Establishment of STEM and Robotics Club,STEM and Robotics Workshop,EDU4.0 Unit at the joint schools
-e-booklet,brochures,public report,public spot
-Project website,Facebook page,Youtube channel
-Increasing academic success rates of students in STEM courses
-Increasing rate of use of Industry 4.0 elements in education
-1st year % 5, 2nd year 8% increase of students’success
-Increase in the number of STEM projects
One of the most important long-term benefits of our project is to raise awareness of students in selecting STEM and Industry 4.0 related professions. Our project outputs will be a resource for all schools and teachers involved in educational settings.New projects will be combined with eTwinning partnerships for a sustainable project.Cooperation will be provided with universities, faculties, lecturers on the way of Education 4.0. Our project will grow as a snowball and will be a reference to other projects and collaboration
