Project Summary

The Project called “LIVE HEALTHY, BE ACTIVE AND GET MOTIVATED!” is a common work of six European primary schools from Greece, Malta, Italy, Spain and Sweden, coordinated by a Slovak school, which decided to react on current issues of education organisations. It was born upon the detailed analysis of required objectives at each partner school, which resulted into the areas which should be solved within the European partnership in order to offer some solutions, proposals for improvement, experienced, applied and used in several EU countries.
The partner schools – which come from different corners of the European territory (north, east, centre, south, west of EU) have decided to solve the most crucial issues that current schools fight with – unhealthy eating habits and life style of youth caused by modern means of technology and lazy attitude to fulfillment the study and life obligations; passive attitude towards study and duties and unproper behaviour towards life situations, even early school leaving.
Thus the motivation for the project is to determine particular issues at the beginning via common questionnaire and to reach common solutions, methods to improve activities to support young people to become healthier, more active and to get motivated to behave more properly.

The Project intends to focus on the individuals who tackle early school leaving and those who come from disadvantaged areas; it intends to suport and develop basic skills in healthy lifestyle, active attitude towards life and acquire key competences in morals, behaviour, motivation for positive thinking, socializing and well-being.
Since the Project focuses on several areas – HEALTH/ENVIRONMENT/SPORT ACTIVITIES and MOTIVATION, the partners plan to divide the work among the foreign schools and find practical solutions applicable to any organisation working with youth in any EU country within formal or non-formal education.
The schools have divided national and international activities among themselves – they will work in pairs: GREECE and ITALY will focus on HEALTHY DIET, SLOVAKIA and SWEEDEN will be responsible for the SPORT/OUTDOOR/ENVIRONMENTAL ACTIVITIES, while MALTA and SPAIN will be responsible for the topic of how to MOTIVATE young people to implement healthy life style and food as well as applying GOOD MANNERS into youth behaviour.

There are offered various types of mobilities for both learners and teacher staff within the Project: 3 Transnational Meetings (initial, half-term assessing and final evaluating), teachers mobilities within the first year of partnership called – “Good behaviour leads to success”, “A healthy mind in healthy body”, “Food traditions and Mediterranean diet in the Ancient World” and “Differences enrich us, respect unites us”.
The second year mobilities are focused mainly on learners and practical issues, including International Youth Marathon, event called “Life is a Carnival”, Harvesting Time in Sicily, “Mediterranean Diet – Cooking Experience LIVE” and “Otdoor Healthy Living and Let´s recycle”.
The Project counts with several results – courses, competitions, cooking and fit trainings, Recipe Book, Carnival costumes, boards and presentations of each partners, recycled items, environment actions – both at national and international level.

All final project results and activities will be displayed and disseminated within involved partners, local and regional schools and published at web pages of participating schools, social forums and eTwinning in order to offer their sustainability and benefits for the entire public in the future.
