Project Summary
Trade Knowledge aims to share and disseminate best practices and non-formal education activities in order to enhance the quality of youth work with regards to engaging youth with the Cultural Heritage of their countries and of Europe in general. Additionally, Trade Knowledge aims to safeguard the engagement of young people with the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of their countries and giving them the necessary tools to develop their skills, creativity and entrepreneurship though cultural heritage precisely. Our project will also discuss on how can young people develop their entrepreneurial mindset through traditional jobs (clay making, fishery, forestry, wine making, olives) and how they can develop their skills and competences on the creation of new innovative ideas on entrepreneurship.
The project involves cooperation with cultural heritage institutions of partner countries for sharing knowledge and methods, and discovering ways to make cultural heritage more relevant for youth workers and young people , thus contributing to capacity building of youth workers and youth work in EU. By bringing together youth workers and organizations with experience of running heritage-based activities and using methods connected with local history and culture, by inviting representatives of the cultural sector to cooperate with youth workers, such as museums, cultural heritage experts, associations, the project also aims to create a framework for international networking for better cooperation between organisations in the EU, and for the exchange of good practices which will later contribute to preservation and promotion of the European cultural heritage among young people, to the greater engagement of young people with the EU cultural heritage, to the preservation and pass on of the cultural heritage of each EU country to the next generations through youth work, and how cross-sector cooperation could help preserve cultural heritage and its contribution to job creation, economic growth and social cohesion. Additionally the project will professionalize youth workers, developing their competences and skills in the field of engagement of youth in the European cultural heritage, and it will foster the inclusion promoting intercultural dialogue and strengthen knowledge and acceptance of diversity in society.
This project aims to ensure exchange of good practices on the field of cultural heritage and youth. The main result of the project is to build capacity of consortium in the field of cultural heritage and youth and enable transfer of practices among the partnership between EU countries. The project will result in increased support of youth workers, trainers and actors active in the cultural sector of partner organizations in developing and sharing effective methods to reach young people & disadvantaged young people through European cultural heritage. Peer learning and exchange of good practices within project activities will professionalise youth workers, develop their competences and skills in the field of European cultural heritage promotion and preservation through youth work. The project will promote cross sectoral cooperation between youth workers and actors active in the cultural heritage such as museums, cultural heritage experts, associations, libraries, NGOs on local, national and EU level. It will contribute to growing the networks of the organisations participating in the project in order to build synergies for future collaboration and project development. And finally, the project will contribute in creating a prosperous environment for networking and the equipment of youth workers with knowledge and specific competences in cultural heritage and youth education.
