“Smart Hospitality” is Erasmus+ strategic partnership project created by partners from Lithuania, Estonia, Greece and Spain involved in adult education. Coordinator is Strategic Self-management Institute research and training organisation from Lithuania.
Partners stand on the brink of technological revolution that will fundamentally alter the way we live and work. A new type of customer – the digital native – will be the main user of hospitality services. Consumers are able to afford access the digital world – ordering a cab, booking a flight, buying a product, making a payment, listening to music or playing a game – any of these can now be done remotely. Hospitality sector is forced to be flexible and dynamic and is turning into field where digital skills are a must. In the modern workplace, digital skills are highly valued; in the future, digital skills will be vital.
Last researches revealed that in employers’ opinion employees needs stronger digital skills and knowledge about smart technologies. A lot of trainers working with adult learners in hospitality sector, are not aware how to develop digital competencies. “Smart Hospitality Academy” will create a training programm, which will help develop adult trainers knowledge about smart technologies, internet of Things, other inovations in hospitality sector.

Project partners see added value in transnational collaboration between different types of organisations involved in adult education – NGOs and SMEs – with different scope of work and geographical location in Europe. Newertheless, all partners have common interest and are willing to take part in developing new common products and improve quality of adult education. All project partners have experience in adult education, they are willing to share their experience, to learn from each other and produce together new learning materials which will be useful for education purposes by educators (main targer group) and their adult learners (final beneficiaries).
Partners’ organisations will analyze needs of educators and adult leraners and desided to put together their experiences and develop new sustainable outputs which are needed. They will be updated regularly online and will be used in partners’ countries, in Europe and beyond. Implementation of the project will contribute to improvement of cooperation between different actors connected with adult education sector and improvement of hospitality services quality in Europe: business sector (hotels, restaurants, travel agencies), public sector (municipalities, city councils), education sector (training centers, schools), etc.

Project aim – collect good practices about using smart technologies in hospitality sector and create training methodology “Smart Hospitality Academy” for improvement hospitality sector employees’ competencies and adaptation them to digital life and Smart Technologies. This Methodology will be used as a practical instrument in the work of adult educators in project partners’ and other stakeholders’ organisations and also disseminated to wider audience. The strategic plan of this project is to increase use of project outputs and outcomes after completion of the project.
Project objectives:
