Project Summary

Improving and modernising education systems are a key priority for the EU. Educational organisations have to evolve and adapt to the current trends and educational needs in order to achieve their core mission: to educate students to make them successful in their lives and in today’s interconnected world which faces rapid technological, cultural, economic and demographic changes.Technological developments and engagement with the internet have affected the way students learn.
The knowledge, skills and attitudes of European teachers are of great importance.
It is obvious that in the age of secondary level students it is difficult to motivate them to spend their time by learning. And the teachers are those who play a critical role as implementers of the good teaching methods at all stages. To get better results, teachers must know, if he/she does not know, then to learn how to use effective, modern and innovative tools and techniques to embroider the learning environments.
In today’s digital generation gamification has become a popular tactic to encourage specific behaviours, and to increase students’ motivation and engagement to get the knowledge and skills. Though commonly found in marketing strategies in business among companies, it is now being implemented in many educational programs as well, helping educators to find the balance between achieving their objectives and students’ educational needs.

At the same time gamification is an international tool which can be used in different educational systems, adapted according to the teacher’s individual needs and widely spread to the teachers’ practice. There are different ways of teaching and different ways of using gamification in every country, so that is why it is very useful to create a partnership on international level and to share the best practice and ideas connected with implementation of gamification in the learning environment.

The project G.A.M.E. will concentrate on gamification of teachers learning environment by sharing existing best practice from educational sector and also from non profit sector. During joint staff trainings and blended mobilities teachers and educators will share their ideas, different experience with the use of gamification, experience with the use of ICT for gamification and others. They will collect their experience and innovative methods to MOOc, so a set of innovative gamification practice and tools will be created and reachable for any teachers who will decide to use them. There are going to be 4 joint staff trainings and 4 Blended mobilities of secondary level students.

The project G.A.M.E. intends to develop the competences of teachers to gamify their learning and teaching environments with the use of ICT.So it will have an impact on the teachers to acquire innovative teaching methods and students to raise their motivation and engagement in education environments. The dissemination plan will help to reach as many target groups and stakeholders as possible. Each partner offers unique amount of knowledge and experience representing the sectors addressed in the project. This is a good precondition for expectation of reasonable cooperation and reaching planned results.
