Project Summary
The project is focused on exchange of experience and good practices of training centers and institutes in the area of elderly care, especially for people with dementia and other specific needs, which are specified for qualification and support professionalisation of the staff working in residential social services. The aim of the project is, based on the exchange traineeships, to mutually reflect and implement various tools, procedures and innovations in the area of elderly care and education of professional personnel in social services, which are applicable in the partner countries. For the international exchange of validated procedures and innovations in the area, there have been partnerships agreed among the umbrella organizations of social care providers of three EU countries (The Czech Republic, France and Slovenia). Methods, procedures and training programs, which are considered in terms of the development of care for the elderly with dementia in the partner country as a priority and which would be applicable in other countries: a unique educational programs for social workers “Dementia in Pictures,” “Plan Alzheimer – Caregiver training course in gerontology”, as well as the internationally recognized certification EDE, ISQ OPQF for educational institutions in social services and quality model specifically designed for residential services Quality Mark in Social Services.
To the implementation of project activities was involved 19 participants, employees of participating organizations working in the sector for adult education and in administative positions. While umbrella organizations do not come into direct contact with people suffering from dementia, they need to have sufficient insight into this issue to respond to queries from member bases. Implementation of the project was started by international project meeting to presentation the current status of preparation of strategic documents dealing with the issue of aging and dementia, followed by three educational activities in Slovenia, France and the Czech Republic. The result is a Summary of good practice examples in the elderly care, especially in care for people with dementia. We divided the Summary into two identical documents – a separate Czech and a separate English version. This is more practical than the unified document described in the project application due to the size of the document and its data size, where it could be problematic to upload it to the servers of partner organizations. It is certainly more practical to disseminate the Summary in the language version, which is closer for the participating organizations (for the Czech Republic – czech version, for SLO and FR – english version). Both language versions will be available on the APSS CR website and on the Erasmus platform. At the end of the project was held promotion and dissemination activities for the effective dissemination of project outputs – reports, articles, round table.
