Project Summary
The Cinema, European Cultural Heritage, as a new methodological integrative teaching approach for the knowledge and the study of history: of the history of Europe starting from the Modern States. The audiovisual to support a greater awareness of values, identity, traditions, a new way of guaranteeing respect, tolerance, integration and socialization within schools, among young people, in the local communities for the construction of a Europe united and supportive. Cinema that strengthens and reinforces critical thinking, which, through a specific education for observation and listening, becomes a fundamental ally for the acquisition of basic and transversal skills, in particular linguistic and creative. The strength of the image combined with the cultural cinematographic creativity that brings out and develops talent and at the same time contributes to the recovery of children with learning difficulties. The cinema allows general literacy and a deepening of the media through the use of the media itself, which as a means of communication continues to evolve, looking to the future, enriching itself with contents and new operational approaches thanks to new digital technologies. But cinema, or rather film production could also be seen as a professional and creative opportunity for the development of employability in the creative and cultural industries. The project opens up to an engaging experience laying the foundations for the start of a co-production process, in which students from schools in different countries, assisted by university professors and researchers, exchange audiovisual materials of different origins for the purpose to construct video-reconstructions of the history of Europe in the context of an Audio-visual Contest on the “History of Europe” in which the most significant events are retraced, the characters of the memory are portrayed and points of view are brought to light and different studies. Starting from an initial experience in Secondary Schools of our territory, the project aims to be an exchange of good practices between partners (Schools, Universities and Local Authorities) who, in various capacities and competences, intervene in the training of young people, oriented towards the development of a new teaching method Label “European History Moving” to support the knowledge and study of History characterized by significant potential for transferability in terms of involvement of additional teaching materials, groups of students and territorial contexts and important elements of future sustainability. The project directly involves different target groups, teachers, teachers, operators (28 units) and students (90 units), in training and exchange activities for the development of innovative teaching, laboratory and experiential activities in transnational and virtual mobility for young people, Audio-visual contest “European History Moving”. It will also be an attractive and engaging experience to learn about cultural heritage through cinematographic productions and together an innovative and participatory informal learning path that implements intercultural dialogue and active participation in the process of building European citizenship. The project pursues the following objectives:
– Create a transnational partnership with the aim of researching, building and sharing new models, methodologies and learning processes that are flexible, sustainable and innovative.
– Define a new teaching method to support the knowledge and study of history that favors better levels of learning characterized by potential for transferability and elements of sustainability.
