Project Summary
In the “Act naturally” project, there were 3 schools (High School Complex No. 5 in Zamość, 3rd High School in Zamość and Istituto Tecnico Economico “Mossotti” in Novara in Piedmont). The fourth school (Istituto di Istruzione Superiore “G. Gangale” from Ciro ‘in Calabria), withdrew from the project at the very beginning of its implementation. All schools are located in agricultural areas with large and unused tourist assets, and subjects related to biology, ecology and agricultural sciences are an important aspect for all schools. Schools have created a network of mutual help using the Moodle platform. Our school (together with the third LO in Zamość) took over part of the tasks that the school with Ciro had to carry out, namely workshops with the use of CAD techniques for design for all participants and contacts with architectural studios and design designers, as well as architectural inventory and urban. We worked on the Moodle platform with III L.O. in Zamość and Istituto “Mossotti” from Novara, exchanging information and using materials about the economics of agro-tourism enterprises and developing business plans run on the platform by the Italian school. We participated in international workshops on object inventory techniques and the introduction to design. In the further phase of the project, we inventoried and organized an Italian language course for communication within the framework of the project (in parallel with the Italian course in III L.O.). The result of the project was to develop a design model for the agritourism structure in the Zamość region (campsite for youth was chosen over the reservoir in Zamość) and in Italy (transformation of the historic farm in Parco del Valle Ticino in Cerano into an object that could function, earning and not destroying the environment park). This result was worked out with the excellent cooperation of both partner schools. ZSP No. 5 together with III L.O. ran a campsite project “Yurt” in the phase of land recognition, inventory, initial characterization and coordination of concepts with local authorities. During the mobility in Zamość and joint workshops, the project was taken up by all participants, designing in 2D and doing the camping mock-up. We have prepared an inventory of the facility in Ticino, during mobility in Italy. After mobility in Novara, ZSP No. 5 helped other schools to prepare a cost estimate, we helped III L.O. in the task of developing a plan for reconstruction and costs for a Cerano farm, in order to transform it into a center for children with autism and the center of stay of families with autistic children. We provided the coordinator with a reconstruction project and a blind estimate – developed in the form of a leaflet for potential sponsors and project stakeholders (as suggested by the Italian school and local authorities), along with an offer to use the premises and rooms for children with autism. Work on the project and workshops in the area have brought us closer to the natural environment of our regions, but also to their culture and the specificity of agronomy in both areas. Joint workshops (during two mobilities in Poland and two in Italy) were a field for exchanging observations on environmental care and actions of local authorities in this field and possible civic activities. We also unexpectedly expanded the project by observing a support system for children with disabilities in Poland and Italy, thanks to the Center’s consultations in Zamość. Above all, thanks to the method of working in mixed project groups, we had the opportunity to get to know each other better and appreciate our competences in various areas, despite the differences between project participants (8 Italian students were in fact migrants from Asia, Latin America and Africa, our group consisted of mainly from students from outside the commune of Zamość, commuters and school dormitories, friendships between teachers and at the level of teaching staff of all three schools, we have now proposed to continue cooperation with other schools, without Erasmus + funds, to further disseminate the project results We will now run promotional campaigns promoting the project, especially the excellent cooperation of the three schools, thanks to which the conceptual designs of agrotouristic buildings and workshops have been expanded participants’ skills, despite the withdrawal of one of the partners.
