Project Summary
“A.R.G.O. – Art and cReativity to Grow up in cOoperation” project originates from the need to promote the creative learning through the use of storytelling and arts such as formative, innovative teaching tools for the development of transversal competences, for an inclusive and cooperative didactics.
The use of written stories and arts (music, photography, drawing) allows to enable for young pupils a creative critical thinking through the narration and the sharing of legends, experiences, stories that concern the involved Countries in the project’s design such as Romania, Portugal, North Macedonia and Italy. The possibility to know these stories inserts itself in the lab activities of the ‘Golden Fleece’ (“Vello D’Oro”), an active and cooperative exchange place where creative brainstormings and cooperative storytellings do something for the development of both a mutual story developed in digital format (e-book) and a short final docufilm made up with participants’ amateur recordings and video-interviews. These activities, related to several artistic tools such as drawing, photography, music and digital painting, will carry out the pupils to compare themselves on mutual belongings, by identifying the counterpart into the stranger, to share roots and experiences by creating an active and productive debate focused on inclusion, tolerance, interculturalism and European Citizenship.
The partnership among the Schools arises from the prominent presence, in each one, of students that come from economic and social disadvantges’ conditions that originates from the variables of different type. Because of this, they need close attention, as the origin background is resistant to education, in particular for the ethnic Roma students. Travel topics and ‘Golden Fleece’s (Vello d’Oro) research are the right metaphor to make the several partner schools more attractive to develop students’ motivation to participate in school activities by increasing civic, ethical and cultural competences in order to remove social barriers that oppress the expression of human potential.
The specific purposes of “A.R.G.O.” project are:
– to promote the inclusion of foreign students, in particular ethnic Roma Groups, through the implementation of literacy both in Italian and in English;
– to spread an aware culture of legality and citizenship, through the openness and the exchange at European level for the best practices’ dissemination and sharing;
– to develop social and civic competences, through the use of creative, artistic and IT tools that can increase the cooperation among peers, cultural tales/stories’ sharing and backgrounds. Educational creative activities will grant the realization of students’ purposes, in particular for relational, linguistic and value competences.
To this purpose, the projects foresees that each School selects a group of 30 participants among the 5th classes of Primary Schools and 3rd classes of lower Secondary (11-14 years old) ones, that will be engaged in realizing in a concrete way the researchs about legends and stories of their own land by choosing a story to be shared with the other participants. Out of these 30, that will constantly remain in touch with an operational update througheTwinning and Project’s TwinSpace, for each partner school 6 participants will take part in the international activities’ exchange, by experimenting in an effective way the several activities of cooperation, development of the story and production of the shortfilm.
The internal communication between the project’s teams will be constant and it will be concrete, through e-mails and messages, for a total of 10 meetings in video-conference in a timeframe of 24 months of activities that will allow to control the progress, the issues, the results, the logistics by granting the harmonious development of “A.R.G.O.” and the whole international cooperation.
The diffusion and the dissemination will be granted by a series of events, by each partner school and coordinated by ‘Francesco Pentimalli’ Comprehensive School as Project’s Applicant/Coordinator, in the form of press conferences both at the beginning and the conclusion of the activities by granting a big audience to start a dialogue and a constructive debate on the benefits and the opportunities of the Erasmus+ Programme and to focus on a sensitive topic such as social inclusion, caring for the others, social contexts’ multiculturalism. The amateur shortfilm, summary of the carried out activities, will be candidate in the beginning of “Gioia Tauro Film Festival” with a virtual connection with the representatives of the partner schools while the e-book will be translated, in addition to English, in the native languages of each involved Country in order to be disseminated in all social contexts.
