Project Summary

This is a project focused on cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices between schools. The project covers a variety of topics which link to: jnclusion guidance ; early school leaving, combating failure in education,an IT skills learning, european heritage importance and to learn tools to integrate the special needs students in the school life.
The most relevant priorities addressed by the project are as follows: promoting the take-up of practical experiences of disability and education, young people’s social inclusion and well-being.
The objectives of the project are to build social skills, raise students’ awareness of their character and abilities, to improve their IT skills while working on various projects, to raise attainment of under-achieving students, to get to know the european heritage and broaden their horizons about the types of disabilities as well as to learn more about diferent ways to access to special needs partners with no verbal lenguaje to destroy the invisible barriers. It is also meant to equip students with knowledge about the specifics of different abilities by job shadowing and workshops. What is more, the project aims to raise the quality of career counseling by improving students’ self-evaluation skills and their ability to assess their suitability for a different things,to raise students’ , to be able to design heritage rutes that are understood easily using new technology like augmented reality, to develop other tools to make easier to know the schools. The project also helps to build and develop the so- called 21st century skills (critical thinking, problem solving, research practices, creativity, artistry, curiosity, imagination, innovation, personal expression, planning, self-discipline, adaptability, initiative, leadership, teamwork, ICT literacy, entrepreneurship).
There are 2 schools participating in the project, IES PUNTA DEL VERDE school from Spain is acting as the coordinator. The partner school is ISTITUTO COMPRENSIVO DEL TRONTO E VALFLUVIONE from Italy, both schools provide general secondary education
A general approach throughout the project is to turn the whole process into practical and mutual learning by implementing active conscious use of Bloom’s 6 Taxonomy (Remember-understand-apply-analyze.evaluate-create)
During the project the main tools for communication for partners will be the Internet: e-mails,e.twinning platform, video conferences, Facebook ,project webpage, Skype and other messengers. There will be 6 project meetings in total- 3 during the first year of cooperation and 3 during the second one. In order to achieve the aims of the project a variety of activities will be scheduled. Students will take part in training activities in order to get skills for successful implementation of the key tasks and sharing experiences in the given field as well. These trainings will be held in both participating schools throughout the 2-year period of cooperation. In the teachers`training meetings will participate a group of 5 teachers of the host school and 2 of the visitor school. For the students mobilities will participate 8 students and 2 teachers with 3 special needs students and they personal helpers.
In addition, students will be engaged in a number of other activities: creating a project logo, research in order to find out the different routes of transport, the selection of the most important heritage places in each area and to find and to describe the popular events of each place. The student will make the research on a diary of their experience and present the results in presentations and to create a virtual rutes by the heritage using augmented and virtual reality.
Teacher will exchange good practices about special needs students education. Their future and tools for teaching and new ways to communicate with them. The teachers will improve their IT habilities and will know new tools to teach like virtual and augmented reality and how to use them.
Inclusion (in particular disability) and the efectiva management of social disadvantage is of absolute centrality in this project. Several projects and activity programmes have been set up during the last decade to counteract the increasing tendency to discriminate and isolate disabled and disadvantaged people.
This project will continue in the future because The inclusion will improve, teachers will continue using the new metodology and the new technological tools developed during the project that have helped to promove and to include the special needs students.
