Project Summary
Extending activeness of women 50+, and therefore promotion development of their competencies is becoming one of the most important challenges of state policy (Long-Term National Development Strategy Poland 2030, Europe 2020). Poland is among countries which use the potential of people 50 +, and in particular women 50+ in the lowest level regarding the labor market. This problem has become the starting point for substantive concept of this project. It focuses on developing an effective model to support women 50+ who want to improve their potential in the labor market through gaining and upgrading skills and qualifications, who want to play an active role in society.
There were five Partners invited to cooperate within the project:
• Lithuania
• Turkey
• Spain
• Slovenia
• Finland
The goal of creating such a wide partnership was to learn about the problems of women 50+ in countries with different culture, to exchange experiences and get to know partner solutions. Cooperation was taking place according the principles of subsidiarity, sovereignty of parties, partnership and effectiveness. Lithuania and Turkey can be described as the most committed partners in the project.
Among the project there were three results developed:
• The program of training women 50+, together with methodology as an added value (02)
• The guide How to be active at the age of 50+ (03)
• Research Report (04)
In the framework of local activities (project management) there were 96 women educated on diagnosing needs during the research project.
In the framework of dissemination activities there was an International Conference organized. The Conference was titled “A woman 50+ in a mirror of herself and the world”. Four seminars also took place:
• Lithuania
• Turkey,
• Finland
• Slovenia.
The project was presented at the World Summit of Women in Warsaw. Global Women’s Summits are organized for 26 years by the Global Summit of Women. This meeting is called women’s Davos because of the subject matter it concerns. There are mainly issues related to economic affairs and business discussed, but also these, which refer to global trends, world tendencies – in the economy and global labor markets.
All the results of the project were realized in 100%.
