Project Summary

For children to learn and feel safe at school, creative teachers are needed to organize the process of education in innovative, creative and non-traditional ways. Children should participate in the decision-making process in class, become aware of democracy and citizenship and parents should ensure the continuity of education outside of school at home.
Valérie Renault, the director of the elementary school Emile Zola practices these innovative methods in her school on the basis of the institutional pedagogy of Fernard Oury: The “4 L” locations, limits, laws. These locations, these limits and these laws, mark, allow, authorize and establish the fourth L – the language by innovating this method and changing it permanently so as to adapt to each child and parent.
The three schools (school coordinator Emile Zola and partners: Buivydiskiu pagrindine mokykla, as well as the Cocoyer Public Primary School) face the same problems: children from underprivileged backgrounds, schooling problems, school dropout etc.
Thus, the motivation of children, the motivation of teachers to innovate and to promote the institutional pedagogy and the implication of parents in the educational process can improve the school life and especially the schooling of the children – main actors of this project.
The exchange of good practices of these three schools will be beneficial to all the actors of the school community: children, teachers, parents. We want to use the e-twinning platform to make contact and as a means of communication to involve pupil to communicate with each other.
The use of the e-twinning platform will improve pupils’ knowledge of English, promote the best apprehension of French culture by Lithuanian children and even the French language.
Students will be the main decision-makers of the activities we will implement at the local level.
We want to bring children to see the exhibitions, the singing and dance performances, related to the project: dances and Creole songs so that the children better understand the culture of the other, the exhibitions on Lithuania, a country unknown by children but also by teachers. This project will be a great asset for all the children, parents and teachers of the three schools.
