Project Summary

According to the research of European Comission, 2017, Europe faces important challenges today. In 2015, the Paris Declaration signed bu EU Education Ministers and the European Comission called for action at European, national, regional and local levels to reinforce the role of education in promoting citizenship and the common values of freedom, tolerance and non-discrimination. There is a strong relation between citizenship and democracy. If we want a democracy which functions well, we must have citizens with the necessary competences to think and act in a democratic way. It is obvious that citizenship cannot be thought only as creating citizens in a narrow and strictly national sense.
Our main aims in this project are;
1- Helping our students learn how to interact effectively, how to act in a socially responsible manner
2- Developing their critical thinking
3- Guiding them about caring community and taking responsibility to improve their environment
4- Respecting the authority like parents, teachers, police officers and local administrators
5- Helping our students behave safely and participate responsibly online
6- being a political literate
The participants in the project will be students between the age of 14-18, teachers, other school staff, families, public and public authorities. The students in the risk group (early school leaving, missing classes, academic failure, divorced, separated or having low income families) will also take part in the project.
Enthusiastic teachers and the teachers whose branches are directly related to our subject will be encouraged to be in the project.
We will have 2 LTTs in the first and 3 LTTs in the second year.
C-1 Democracy Workshop; to enable them interact effectively and usefully with other people in a responsible manner.
C-2 Clean Environment Clean Society; to organise an activity called protect and clean your school and environment.
C-3 A Short Film (Shoot Your Film); a short film to be shot by students with the theme of “Being Kind Towards Others”
C-4 Safe and Protected; a seminar will be given by ICT teachers of our teams in order to raise the awareness and principles of students’ being an active digital citizen.
C-5 e-Twinning and Media Literacy about The third e-Twinning project to disseminate our Erasmus+ project results and our other activities through e-Twinning.
The coordinator will be responsible for checking that all the partners keep in touch and all the planned activities are done on time. There will be at least one teacher who will be permenant and involve constantly in the project and spread information promptly in his own school. Each school will have their project teams to communicate with the others regularly. Special activities will be organised in each school at the same time. They will upload their progress status on the project website.
The project coordinator and all the staff participating in 4 schools will add new experiences they gained on the previous projects and improve their teaching and learning techniques. Furthermore, a strong link between participants will be established in order to convey the innovative competencies that will increase the confidence of students in their education and training success and to reduce the risk of school failure.
Our tangible results will be to;
-learn how to be critical, active and digital person
-learn to be collaborative and of course participative
-do their best to make their home, school and community a better place to live.
-use the digital technology effectively
-learn/respect different cultures, values, views, ways oflives and opinions
-make the students learn their rights and responsibilities as citizens.
-give them social and moral responsibility
-participate in activities to serve the other members of the community
-protect and support cultural heritage
With the help of this project, our students will be responsible and repectful, informed about the needs od their society. They will have digital skills. They will involve every step of democracy. They will also affect their community in a good way. Moreover, we believe that our acticvities will give them self-confidence and scocial skills development. They will have information about European Union and also lifestyle and education in partner countries. They will get information about other cultures and learn to respect them. They will make a strong frienship with other partners students. They wil be motivated to study foreign languages and other school subjects, too. They will also gain the skill of working in a team and have tolerance to other opinions. Involving in group activities and working in a friendly, cooperative and respectful atmosphere will motivate them to attend school regularly, and they will feel themselves as a part of school. By this way, we believe that we will contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the Europe 2020 strategy.
