Project Summary

The overall aim is to increase the capability and improve the quality of new graduate students in three universities in Mongolia in order to meet the accelerating problems with air pollution caused by burning coal. The focus is on developing knowledge in Energy Efficient Buildings and Renewable energy to meet the urgent demand to solve the environmental pollution and hazard to public health and well-being in Ulaanbaatar. This will also give impact on actions to reduce the climate changes.The specific objectives for the project are to:• develop and establish new and revise existing courses (Master and Bachelor) on Energy Efficient Building (EEB) and Renewable Energy in order too prepare the necessary human resources capacity that can develop a comprehensive solution integrating improved energy production and energy efficiency concepts to address the environmental pollution o create broader public awareness about the problem and solutions• develop of laboratory facilities to o promote students active training and facilitate active research in the field o enable sustainable development in Mongoliao create sustainable cooperation between scientists and researchers of Mongolian partners and Lund University and Tallinn University• support faculty development and establish faculty cooperationo enable the successful implementation of the programso train professionals who can mitigate the problems via research o establish sustainable network to share and exchange knowledge
