Project Summary

The Advantage project is mainly intended to promote the role of the young man with special needs ( disabled young people , young people with special educational needs and young people with social disabilities ) by promoting educational , communicational and structural innovative and flexible strategies to facilitate their entry in the labor market , access to opportunities for training or retraining or simply improve their competency framework as social actors and active citizens in the European context .

We will promote the creation of the Advantage Web Platform , which will be the first site in the European context to offer opportunities for training , employment and vocational training exclusively for young people with special needs . At the same time the platform will provide a set of social managers who are the mediators / facilitators of the Advantage Networks , 3 networks connected to each other and that will give direct response to the young people with special needs. We will create:

– Special Sponsors Network – Network of enterprises and sponsors who make available concrete support (such as transportation to the place of work for young people with special needs , a social manager , specific technical equipment , etc.) for young people with special needs in their integration on their professional / social process and whenever possible , including specific employment situations.

Special Agents network – Social Network for project managers , each assigned by partner institutions , others on a voluntary basis and will be the direct guardians of the youth involved . Although this chapter will give birth to Ge.So. Certification (Generating Solutions ). It will be a certification of pedagogical aptitude for young technicians that operate with youngters with special needs in the context of their employability .

YAI – Adavantage Youth Inc – Incubators of young initiative – Resource centers managed by Social Managers coordinated with the Special Sponsors Network that will serve to build projects and business, civic and youth participation intervention under the theme ” We are all in Europe.” This theme will focus on the role of young people with special needs in the construction of the new Europe , in its opportunities , its potential and its weaknesses . Each incubator will give rise to a youth group that will bring its action into concrete actions focused on the needs of its members and aligned with project objectives . The non-formal education methodologies basis, taking into account the target audience, will be reflection from multisensory stimulation and expressive reflection ( Debate , introspection and discussion using the theater, music , writing , etc. )

The Advantage integrates initially Portugal , Slovakia and Italy and over 120 young people with special needs . At the end of the project we have 3 countries involved in about 250 youth with special needs through the YAI – Youth Adavantage Inc (at the end of the project will be active in at least 9 YAi in 3 countries ). We will have at least 50 young social managers supporting young people with special needs and we will have involved more than 40 companies , organizations and institutions supporting this public through the Special Sponsors Network.

The Good Practices Guide ” Advantage ” , built with the support of experts , will have a online and printed version , reaching more than 1,000 educators .
