Project Summary

STEM, For the first time in 2001, used by Mr Judith Rahmaley, is an education system that has been accepted worldwide in a short time and taken seriously. According to the National Research Council, STEM is spreading with this name all over the world; consists of English initials of the words Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Engineering has a key role in these words and is misunderstood only as a profession; It forms the dynamics of the STEM approach. An engineering problem-solving approach can also be defined as product design and manufacturing process. The important thing is how to teach engineering secondary school-age children. This important point constitutes the starting point of our project and directs our efforts to produce models that will contribute to the strategic development of our schools.

The mission of this project is; To contribute to the development of STEM education with Industry 4.0 elements in our schools and to decrease the failure below 15% rate as specified in ET2020. We want to be a new generation of schools that implement the STEM approach in line with the target of reducing the failure rate below 15% in the age group of 15 in the fields of reading, mathematics and science as stated in the EU 2020 strategy.

As 6 partner schools, our desire to add international activities and our aim to join the Maker Fair, Education Platforms, innovation camps are held all over the world with young people has been the starting point of our project. With this project, we aim to be able to build bridges on international Maker Faires, FLL Robo leagues, VEX tournaments and Fairs organized with the relationships we will establish. We would like to realize the project to help our students to see the initiatives on this issue and share our experiences on
*Robotics,
*3D printing
*AR&VR
*Drones

On the line of the aim, as 6 different schools OUR OBJECTIVES ARE:
.To reduce the failure rates of our students and create generation schools that use the STEM approach in line with the EU 2020 Strategy
.To support the use of more effective and innovative teaching methodologies that STEM provides in our curriculums
.To enable our students to gain real-world and 21st Century Skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, decision making
.To Disseminate STEM components in all partner schools for effective teacher education
.To raise awareness about Techno-Entrepreneurship, global market, maker (DIY=Do it yourself) movement
.To include 4th industrial revolution components in the curriculum to use them more effectively in lessons and develop lesson plans with 3D printers, VR headsets, ROBOTIS, LEGO EV3 and VEX IQ robotics.

The partnership will produce various end products to share with others and which improve the students’ and teachers’ skills, key- competencies and entrepreneurship and that enrol the local communities in the processes of their conception, realization and dissemination. We will create website/ FB page/blog of the project, Motto& logo of the project, PDF of lesson plans, LTT reports, Leaflets on STEM, STEM teaching plans, Videos of workshops and dissemination activities, Promotional Products, E-Booklet of 6 LTTs, Google Form and Surveys, Statistics of Assessment and Evaluation process, eTwinning project and events,6 School STEM CLUBS& LABS& UNITS

There will be 6 mobilities with 15-18 years old students. Each LTT will be actualized with 4 students(15-18 y.o.) and 2 teachers selected pursuant to criteria from each country.
Turkey (ROBOTIS STEM) activities planned in November 2020
Italy (3D Printing) activities planned in March 2021
Estonia (LEGO SPIKE)activities planned in May 2021
Finland (VEX IQ)activities planned in September 2021
Portugal (VR and AR )activities planned in March 2022
Hungary(LEGO EV3)activities planned in May 2022

Thanks to the formal and informal events and project-based learning methods (teamwork, meetings, seminars, workshops, LTTs, face-to-face meetings) that will take place throughout the project we will
-improve the digital skills of our students/ teachers
-get awareness about the importance of coding and Robotics
-be able to integrate STEM activities into our curriculum and our lesson plans
-share the same classrooms and same working areas with different background teachers and students
-provide our students adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies and development of ICT competencies
-provide our disadvantaged students to get self-confidence and entrepreneurship skills
-exchange our best practices with each other to create a comprehensive approach that we need to conduct STEM approach as an exigency.

Our partnership is based on a long dialogue through eTwinning and School Education Gateway. Even the project ends our dialogue will continue, we will inform each other about the competitions worldwide we will meet at other lanes (FLL, VEX tournaments). This project will occur in new KA2 projects like ka201 with different educational organisations.
