Project Summary
The Alliance for Common Fine Arts Curriculum (EU4ART) project is established by four European fine art universities (Hungarian University of Fine Arts, Dresden Academy of Fine Arts, Art Academy of Latvia, Academy of Fine Arts of Rome) in order to develop common, flexible curriculum in the fields of painting, sculpture and graphic art.We decided to articulate responses together to the challenges of 21st century in fine art education in order to transfer the values held important by the cooperating universities to future generations. The new curriculum are based on transdisciplinary approach integrating innovative pedagogical methods including the newest digital technologies to prepare our students for international competition. During the implementation of the project the published methodologies will be accessible for universities outside the alliance.During the harmonisation of curriculum the EU4ART project reveals and develops the workshop practice of master-student educational methodology, realises the teaching pilot based on common themes, realises common exhibitions, helps the mobility of involved teachers and students via mentor system based on the new curriculum; compiles a fine arts multi-lingual dictionary and ensures language courses. Mobility and language learning mutually strengthten each other: language skills enhances the interest in studying abroad; studying abroad develops language skills. Language knowledge helps the understanding of own and other cultures‘ identities. The EU4ART project brings to surface the specialities of fine art education of different cultural traditions, the project adapts and disseminates them (complementarity). Our project contributes to the strengthtening of European identity and promotes European cultural heritage and diversity. EU4ART releases the synergies between culture and education.
