Project Summary
Background:
The schools Lycée Henri Vincenot and Kerschensteinerschule Stuttgart have used synergy effects of the cooperation in the training of the two schools in the field of extraction of herbal medicinal products in this project.
The schools complemented each other in their know-how, equipment and orientation in an ideal way.
Goals achieved:
– Applying and deepening French language skills
– Getting to know the culture, language, way of life of the partner country and the partner region
– Pupil and teacher contacts between France and Stuttgart
– Familiarization with alternative working techniques
– Joint preparation of the comparison “Extraction methods from medicinal plants for pharmacy”.
– Joint project implementation with subsequent evaluation
Number and profile of participants:
The German project group consisted of 11 students from the vocational high school in the field of pharmacy with the profile PTA + Abitur.
The French project group consisted of students of vocational training in the field of pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.
In addition, experienced teachers of pharmacy and language teaching in Germany and France took part in this project.
Activities carried out:
– joint project work: extraction processes, freeze-drying, tableting in French and German laboratories
– Professional program (company Mylan in Chatillon sur Chalaronne, Hospital Pharmacy Tübingen)
– cultural programme (Pasteur Museum, visit to the cheese dairy)
Methods of implementation:
Action-oriented teaching and learning methods were pursued, which were implemented by students and teachers in joint working groups.
Results:
– Further development of social, intercultural and linguistic competence
– Further development of professional competence through planning and implementation of a project
– Continuation and deepening of the long-standing cooperation between France and Germany
– Preparation of project documentation and presentation
– Reporting in the trade press (COSMAS, quarterly journal of the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Pharmacists) and on the school’s homepage (Public Relations School)
Longer-term benefits:
Establishment of continuous cooperation between the two schools in the field of pharmacy. Permanent integration of the acquired knowledge, skills and competences in the schools and regional training centres of the partner countries.
