Project Summary
The project “Art and Cultural Heritage – Real and Virtual” has aroused the interest of the students of both schools in art and culture and has become a platform for the linguistic and friendly exchange of students of the Mädchengymnasium Jülich and the school “La Vall” in the province of Barcelona.
At the selected objects, the buildings by Gaudi and the gothic quarter in Barcelona as well as the Cologne Cathedral and St. Kolumba in Cologne, the students have learned to see, to photograph and process digital photos creatively.
In this German-Spanish partnership, the students found access to works of art and architecture from different eras in different countries. They compared details such as windows, columns, arches and sculptures on the facades in and around Cologne Cathedral, a building from the 13th century with elements in and at the Basilica SAGRADA FAMILIA (Barcelona) from the 19th / 20th centuries. The architecture and sculptures created by Gaudi motivated the students in a special way when editing their photos. The fascination of the light in the glass windows of the “Sagrada Familia” and of the Cologne Cathedral (Richter Fenster) impressed the students much. This has not only become especially apparent in the pictures, which were selected by the students for their calendar 2020, but also in the detailed documentation on https://twinspace.etwinning.net/81523/home.
From the creative digital processing, synopsis and alienation of various works of art impressive new images have been created. Through the exhibition of the works of art in the context of the “Europafest”, organized by the Mädchengymnasium Jülich, both the German and the Spanish students were able to present the results of their project to a larger public. This exhibition also received a tribute in the local and national press: see the Links on the websites of the schools: www.mgj-online.de/erasmus/873356C6-4CB3-0DDB-65E3-74607A287E31 and on instagram as well as La Vall on facebook:
