Project Summary
” Art is in the air” is a project written for 4 European art schools: 3 High Schools of Fine Arts from Poland, Bulgaria, Romania and 1 art school from Italy. We have chosen a group of 16-17 year old students from each school. Our main aim is to show, through workshops and meetings with practitioners, well known graduates of our schools, people working in advertising agencies, painters, designers, that the graduate of an art school has got a wide range of possibilities to find a good job, also for further artistic development, to earn money and work for a living from his passion. Our goal is to help our graduates from 4 countries enter the labour market and to show them their opportunities. We hope their motivation will grow and they will be looking for various solutions. The aim of the project is also to show them various possibilities, so that they will not quit school, which sadly happens quite often. The next goal is to improve the knowledge of the English language. English will be the language of communication and we pay special attention to the fact that our graduates, who may live and work in any part of Europe or even the world, should be developing and practising the language through meetings with our partners.
Learning enterpreneurship is the next aim. The graduate of an art school, who will soon access the labour market, will have to be able to start running his own company and do business, to make a working plan and to achieve his goals. These are the practical things he will be taught during our meetings with practitioners, local artists, people working in advertising agencies and other people who successfully run their own companies. During the project we plan one meeting at every school. After each mobility the participants will be putting photos, films, all materials for a mini guide for younger students, which will help, first of all, the students taking part in a project successfully choose their way of life and their future career and later will be the material to run lessons and workshops for younger students of our schools. Every participant will be able to search this information and the results of these meetings. We also plan that the students taking part in a project will have presentations of all this information on English lessons. This will lead to developing the knowledge of the English language so needed in contemporary Europe. Besides the artistic development, our students ought to develop socially. During our 4 meetings we are planning various activities such as photography, serigraphy, murals, iconography and sculpture workshops. Each of our schools has got a distinctive specialisation, that the others do not have, for example the school from Bulgaria has got a very well equipped room for serigraphy and the school from Poland runs very good photo workshops. We wish to share this knowledge with our partners.
Our further activities are regular meetings at every school with people working in advertising agencies, painters, sculptors, designers. We plan to have meetings with active and well known visual artists presenting their works in their own country and abroad, curators, gallery owners, members of associations and foundations connected with art. The goals of the project will be reached when the participants gain the belief that they will find their own place at a job market and will choose a job connected with art. Also, when they take a decision to choose further artistic education as a student of the Academy of Fine Arts or they will start their career at an advertising agency, as a fashion designer, car designer, photographer in local media, the designer of games and similar jobs. The aim of the project will be reached when the students gain more self confidence, overcome their lack of motivation, lack of faith in their own abilities, shyness and language barrier. Our students might be working in every European counrty and we are sure this openness gained during the project, the ability to see a different artistic point of view, improving the knowlegde of the English language will definitely help them.
After finishing Erasmus + project, every school plans to run similar meetings and workshops with people connected with art. We are also up to use our lesson plans made by groups of our students and supervised by teachers, to run by students and teachers workshops for younger students of our schools and also for students finishing our local primary schools in our towns. Before the Visitors’ Day, every year in spring, we are planning to go to primary schools in our towns to promote schools and at the same time to show the results of the project and our publication showing well known artists from 4 countries and the second publication which will be the works of all our students taking part in the project.
