What’s the heart of your project?

The heart of our project lies in empowering vulnerable communities and fostering 21st-century skills through film education. By organizing screenings, discussions, and workshops—both in person and online—we create meaningful opportunities for students and teachers, including those in remote areas, to engage with thought-provoking films and their creators. Our goal is to inspire, educate, and build connections through cinema, culminating in an annual festival that celebrates these shared experiences.

What’s something you’re really proud of achieving so far (with your project inside Collab 4 HySUST CCI)?

We are particularly proud to have created a dedicated online platform that bridges the gap between urban and remote communities, ensuring equal access to high-quality cultural and educational content. We are very happy to include films by internationally acclaimed filmmakers, such as Cannes-awarded Croatian director Nebojša Slijepčević, Bulgarian director Elitsa Petkova and Czech director Marta Kovárová. This not only elevates the visibility of our initiative but also provides students and teachers with unique opportunities to engage directly with creators, fostering deeper understanding and inspiration.

Furthermore, our efforts to combine physical events with online accessibility have laid the foundation for a sustainable and inclusive model of cultural education, which we aim to expand even further.

Where do you see your project heading next?

Our next steps involve expanding the accessibility and impact of the initiative. We aim to grow our online platform by increasing the number of participating schools, particularly in remote and underserved areas, and diversifying the selection of films to include a broader range of voices and perspectives. We also plan to scale up the number of online events, bringing in more filmmakers from various genres and regions, and to develop resources for teachers that integrate film discussions into their curriculum, making the program even more valuable for educational purposes. In the long term, we envision our website becoming a hub for film education and cultural exchange, connecting students and educators across borders and empowering communities through the transformative power of cinema.

The Collab 4 HySUST CCI project has been invaluable in providing us with the tools, network, and confidence to scale our initiative in innovative ways. Professionally, it has allowed us to explore sustainable approaches to cultural education, blending in-person and online activities to reach a broader audience.

What do you think is the most valuable thing that the Collab 4 HySUST project has brought to you?

On a personal level, it has deepened our understanding of cross-sector collaboration and inspired us to think creatively about integrating digital tools into our work. The connections we’ve built with other organizations and experts through the project have opened doors to new partnerships and ideas, broadening both the scope and sustainability of our efforts.

Ultimately, it has reaffirmed our belief in the power of collective action to drive meaningful cultural and educational impact.

From your experience participating in the Collab 4 Hy Sust CCI project, what advice would you give to organizations similar to yours?

Based on our experience, we encourage organizations like ours to embrace collaboration as a catalyst for innovation and sustainability. Programs like Collab 4 HySUST CCI provide a unique platform to exchange ideas, learn from diverse perspectives, and experiment with new ways of engaging audiences.

Our key advice includes:

  1. Be open to experimentation: Inspired by the program, we successfully combined digital and physical activities to significantly extend our impact. Don’t hesitate to explore new approaches.
  2. Focus on sustainability: Aim for long-term impact by embedding your initiatives into existing structures, such as schools or local networks, to ensure they endure.
  3. Leverage the network: These programs connect you with passionate individuals and organizations. Tap into this network to share knowledge, co-create projects, and expand your reach.

We highly recommend participating in Collab 4 HySUST CCI or similar initiatives. They not only provide practical support but also encourage strategic thinking about long-term goals. It’s a truly enriching experience that helps organizations like ours grow while contributing to a broader ecosystem of cultural innovation.

Would you like to add something?

We want to emphasize how profoundly this project has inspired us to think more holistically about the intersection of culture, education, and sustainability. It has underscored the importance of creating inclusive, accessible spaces where young people, regardless of their circumstances, can engage with the arts and develop critical skills for the future.

Looking ahead, we are excited to further expand our online platform, integrating new technologies like virtual screenings and interactive workshops to enrich the user experience. Additionally, we aim to foster international collaborations, connecting students and teachers across borders to explore cinema as a universal language.

We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to participate in the Collab 4 HySUST CCI project. We look forward to building on the foundation it has provided, continuing this journey, and contributing to a more sustainable and inclusive cultural landscape.
