Project Summary

Athome was born almost 3 years ago after a first PETRHA strategic partnership project which targeted the clinical process of rehabilitation of the elderly. During this project, we had carried out a study work with home helpers allowing us to better understand their role, in particular as a preventer, but by noting that this profession was often occupied by vulnerable people and without training. The IRFSS Nouvelle-Aquitaine, leader of the project then proposed to two of PETRHA’s partners to work on the attractiveness of the home trades and on a training program.
The partnership was enriched thanks to the networks of partners. There are 7 of us, spread over 4 countries, Spain, Portugal, Belgium and France who have contributed to the culmination of the ATHOME project and there are nearly 20 people, home helpers, teachers, researchers, students who have worked on the various productions. .
Today it is a project fully in line with the work objectives that we had set ourselves two years ago, namely to allow European home helpers to benefit from training transferable to all European countries, to strengthen cooperation between all those involved in the home and promoting this little-known and little-considered profession.
To achieve this, we have created three perfectly complementary tools by constantly collaborating with home helpers, in order to benefit from their in-depth knowledge of the field and the elderly or people with disabilities:
1- A training platform in “blended learning” allowing home helpers or learners in the context of professional training to validate the 12 transversal skills defined in the AEFA guide, contextualized in the home sector. Seven skills presented in a Mooc can be validated individually, at the rate of each learner and five others are validated in groups and face-to-face and benefit from educational support. The trainers have at their disposal tutorials offering them innovative educational solutions
2- A film promoting the profession
3- A telephone application intended for professional structures in the home and their employees
All productions are translated into 4 languages English, Spanish, French, Portuguese and freely accessible on the web:

www.mooc-athome.eu

The realization of these productions was made possible by the significant investment of all partners. Beyond the meetings and activities of
training planned in the project, the partners had almost weekly working meetings allowing them to adjust the work to the set schedule.
In the end, the training platform including the Mooc and tutorials is even more efficient than the objective initially defined. Its large-scale test during our various dissemination events or directly with training structures or companies in the home sector confirmed its attractiveness and its educational interest in our productions.

At the same time, the work carried out with home helpers, an often vulnerable public, led the IRFSS and 2 its two Belgian partners
to submit a new Change Of View strategic partnership project. Selected in July 2019 as part of adult education, it aims to develop with 6 partners innovative educational proposals for people working with vulnerable audiences and bring them to change the paradigm in their work.
