Project Summary

At our home – at your home!
Our project includes an exchange between teachers from an Austrian, a Spanish and a French primary school.
Teachers from all those countries discover foreign countries and cultures and enhance their English skills. All those countries get to know life in the other parts of Europe including cultural traditions, daily life and school systems.
Students communicate with the partner schools by eTwinning, by writing letters and E-Mails. In this way students and teachers from all countries socialise with each other and learn from each other due to joint projects and job shadowing. Ideally, this exchange gives rise to lifelong ties and friendships between
the three countries. The children who participate also realise that learning (at least one) foreign language is necessary in order to communicate with others. They improve their language skills without having to worry about grades or pressure.
Three teachers and two groups of students (about 25 students) from each school take part in this project.
The students first meet via the eTwinning plattform. The whole exchange takes place in English so that none of the groups has an advantage language-wise, and all groups improve their English language skills. Children from Spain will come to Austria and get to know live in Austria. We will make a lot of sightseeing, because we are happy to invite people from our partnerschool.
In the long term run we hope that this project will lead to students becoming more open and tolerant with respect to other countries, cultures and school systems.
Students’ communicative and digital competences are enhanced due to this exchange, and the joint projects on the digital eTwinning plattform.
