Project Summary
The aim of the project “Aviation elements in robotics and coding- programing and practical use of drones” which we want to accomplish in The Franciszek Leja State School in Grodzisko Górne as a coordinating country as well as partners Ciro Scianna from Italy, Kecskeméti SZC Gáspár András Szakközépiskolája és Szakiskolája from Hungary and IE Mare de Déu del Portal from Spain is to get a better interest in technical subjects by its participants. Another superior aim of the project which will last from 1st December 2020 to 30th November 2022 is to arrange cooperation and exchange of good practises among cooperating institutions from Poland, Italy, Hungary and Spain in the area of coding, robotics and programming. Cooperation among these countries relates to teaching programming in particular programming languages and using this knowledge to program drones. The project is a consequence of growing demand for knowledge in ICT and robotics as well as growth of using ICT aspects in everyday life. Participants of the project are groups of 6 students from each country and 2 teachers – English teacher, ICT and robotics teacher and technology teacher from each project country. Students will be chosen on the ground of achievements in ICT and robotics, English language level as well as subjects marks, behaviour and participation in after school classes connected with drons programming as well as robotics. Another factor of choosing students to the project will take into consideration students with fewer opportunities (economic and social obstacles). Most parents cannot afford to buy very expensive equipment necessary to learn this field.
ICT and related subjects like robotics or English in ICT and robotics have been becoming the key subjects in modern world. The main aim of a school system change which was introduced in Poland is to enhance the importance of prospective subjects like ICT and related subjects. Introducing subjects like ICT, algorithmics, robotics and pure programming as early as possible in school age should be introduced in a simple and ludic way. The idea of teaching through playing will be for children and teenagers the best way of gaining knowledge and will encourage them to gein knowledge on their own. More and more often children play different kinds of games using modern technology and mobile apps, that’s why the idea of gaining and using program skills, including programing drones, should be accepted by both children and parents. There are planned different kinds of mobilities during the project activities, connected with workshops, learning and taking part in robotics competitions. All participants taking part in the project will be involved in three, lasting 7 days mobilities to their partners. It will be connected with participating in workshops and robotics tournaments as well as exchange of good practises, games and apps creating as well as robots and drones programming. Project metodology include active participating , modeling, copying good practises, creative acting, using modern technology in learning and teaching process, peer learning, support learning and teaching through experience, exchanging as well as developing new ways of work.
Among expected results of the project are growing interest of coding and programming , paying attention to the importance of ICT learning in the meaning of programming from the early school age, knowledge and competence growth among participants of the project and wider involvement in the international projects. Long lasting results on the international level will be long-standing cooperation among the partners extending project duration and increasing number of robotics and ICT tournaments participants on national and international level. In the long-standing term there are also better results of our teams taking part in different robotics tournaments, cutdown the level distance between our participants and the best teams from the world and changing the ICT and programming teaching approach.
