Project Summary

The underlying theme of this project was to enhance the European dimension of education by promoting joint cooperation activities in the schools outlined. This process assisted pupils and teachers to acquire and improve skills in the areas of geography, language, IT, history and social awareness/integration. The participation in the activities described has enriched a sense of teamwork, sociocultural relations, project management and the use of ICT. There was an increased multilingual capacity and an enhanced motivation towards language learning among staff, pupils and the wider school community. All of the participant applicants demonstrated a common ethos with regard to an understanding and appreciation for their role in their community ranging from that of a local one to a European one. They have an appreciation for advancements and developments in society and through this project, have been able to analyse a means of directing towards a more productive and socially aware European environment. These were investigated and researched in a cross-curricular fashion under a variety of headings. In all of the three visited countries, a lot of fieldwork was carried out out od doors as well as typical national sports were practiced so that body-learning was definitely a part of all the three mobilities. Being out of doors a lot, the pupils and teachers necessarily developed an awareness for the state of their surrounding environments and changes for the worse were keenly noticed. We have established really impressive Ersamus-corners at all three schools which are constantly being observed by the whole school community and by people who visit the schools. The eTwinning platform was fed with new material.Teachers and pupils are still in actively contact and are planning another project together next year.
