Project Summary
CONTEXT
We are 6 schools from Europe willing to increase our students’ knowledge and interests in the cultural (Geography, History)heritage of our countries. Our society is so much globalized , almost each human being ia about to forget his/her own national heritage, this is why we intend to challenge our students to search their own history by becoming aware of the customs and traditions which have been passed on from generation to generation. We believe that an individual who don’t know his own roots, will don’t know his foundation and by this way he will never thrive. By our project , we intend to develop our students’ patriotic behaviors, both making them look back to their past and their origins and opening their horizon to other cultures and their diversity.
Our intention is to involve students 100% in the project, this is why we provide them a key role in all activities .When the project starts, students will learn during a training for 3 months the better use of some mobile applications and online instruments in order to create great materials for the project. During the mobilities, students will develop activities with guests, make presentations, becoming guides in cultural visits and creating evaluation forms for the guests for identifying the effectiveness of their work . Once the exchanges ended , in team with some of their teachers, students will make a selection and will build a brochure entitled “European cultural heritage” which will be one of the outputs of the project.
PARTICIPANTS
The students’ age group is 12-14. We will involve at least 180 students in the organization of exchanges and the preparation and implementation of the above – mentioned activities. Except these students, 120 students will be selected, upon their work, their interest and involvement for a direct participation in the mobilities hosted by the partner schools. We will work also with parents of our students, which will help us in organizing the events, by preparing traditional dishes for the exchanges.
OBJECTIVES
The project intend to increase the cultural and intercultural awareness of all the participants involved in its implementation.Students are our the most important concern, this is why we will target the following objectives for them:
OS1. To increase the cultural awareness of at least 80% of students- they will become more interested in their country (history, geography, literature, customs, traditions, dances, traditional music)
OS2. To increase intercultural awareness and skills of all the students- they will become more interested in Knowing about other European countries culture(history, geography, literature, customs, traditions, dances, traditional music).
OS3 To improve students’ ICT skills – they will make use of the mobile applications and online tools for presentations, activities, evaluation, creation of outputs
OS4 To improve students’ transferrable skills such as communication, research and analysis, team work, adaptability, organisation
