Project Summary
The EU integration and enlargement could be viewed from the point of economic, political or legal cooperation developed between the EU states with the aim to establish peace and stability, economic growth and sustainable development in Europe and abroad. Western Balkan countries including Montenegro are facing challenges in towards fulfilment of the necessary conditions, policy regulations, political and economic strength, consolidating reform and strengthening credibility, rule of law and fundamental rights, and many others. There has been progress in this regard over the past year, while some open issues still remain. All these activities are undertaken by government, its institutions and authorities, while the society still needs to be informed, educated and prepared to accept new roles, political and social challenges, as well as enabled claims for justice, rights, security and equality.
In this regard as an important aspect of raising awareness about challenges and prosperity of EU integrations could be considered the youth, acting as the bearers of the future of the society with their well-being and courageous behaviour. The young people should know about the EU neighbouring countries, their political situation and cultural traditions, they people should be prepared for collaboration and mobility with EU friends and colleagues, informed about their study, non-formal education and other possibilities in the EU.Furthermore, they shall be prepared to accept EU values, be aware about professional knowledge level and skills needed for becoming an active player at international labour market. On the other side, EU youth population shall be aware about potentials of other nations, their capacities and ideas, thus enhancing their further networking and collaboration. Initial steps about enhancing awareness among the whole nation are taken in Montenegro: several debates, info days and conferences about integration to EU are organized in last 5 years, campaigns about youth employment, summer schools about entrepreneurial ideas, etc. However, activities focused on youth population with shared practice at regional and international level, by opening EU perspectives and challenges of youth integration are in its infancy and still insufficient. Overall objective of the project:
• Foster cooperation and experience in the field of youth between Montenegro and EU countries through promotion EU values among young people in Montenegro;
Specific objective of the project:
• Improve active participation of youth in social, economic and political development of Montenegro through promotion of EU values, improvement of quality of youth work and non-formal education in Montenegro, and fostering cooperation and exchanging experience with EU countries;
