Project Summary
The project “Best Shots: ICT competences for Volunteering and Inclusion” aims to improve and achieve competences in the field of youth work and communication between the involved participants and organisations. The project wants to offer the volunteers and youth workers a learning and professionalizing path in the work with youngsters with fewer opportunities and in the field of video making and social media communication. The project wants to empower young people in their interpreneurial skills and support the exploitation of international volunteering activities as experiences of learning and growth, both on a personal than on a professional level. The proejct wants to spread among local communities and youngsters the value of volunteering experiences and the main European values as inclusion, freedom, equality and diversity. The project involves 8 partner organisations and wants to address the topic on an international level, involving 3 European organisations, from Italy, Hungary and Spain and 5 non-European organisations, from Nicaragua, Uruguay, Argentina and India. The project will directly involve 16 volunteers that will be involved in their hosting placements in several activities with young people coming from difficult background. Meanwhile the volunteers will develop a personal social communication project: they will produce a video with the use of their smartphones, they will disseminate the value of volunteering activities and they will share their experience through social media communication tools, they will organize local dissemination events. In order to do this the volunteers will attend a task-related training in italy with experts in social and media communication and project management and with experts in video making and video editing from a local italian radio. For the implementation of the social communication project the volunteers will be supported by a “video tutor” and a dedicated youth worker from their HO. For the implementation of the their project the volunteers will involve the target group, the local communities and the stakeholders. The project will end with a pubblic final event in Italy where all the volunteers together will present their video and the project results. All the project results and videos will be shared and disseminated between partner organisations, other interested organisations, networks, national agencies, stakeholders, institutions. The videos will be a strong tool to reach more youngsters with fewer opportunites and involve them in future volunteering projects. All the participants will achieve important communication competences to be used in their future programmes. The volunteers will took part to a project that will empower them as volunteers, youth workers, video makers, active citizens and young entrepreneurs. The project will spread European values and opportunities at an international level and will foster the international cooperation.
