Project Summary

The project title is Bits and Pieces of Culture. The idea of the project comes from the need to teach children culture and its importance and the need to mark the year of the European cultural heritage. The project involves students aged from 10 to 14, from 6 primary schools from: Croatia, Poland, Greece, Cyprus, Italy and Spain. The aims of the project are to learn more about our own as well as other partners culture, to develop digital and language competences as well as the transversal skills that are very important in today’s society. The project will promote opportunities and create the conditions for the weaker students to be involved in an international project stimulating their enjoyment in learning. It will also offer the frame for the most successful students to develop their skills, too. The pupils will learn about dances, music, literature and language, food, festivals, geography, paintings, photography and monuments. There will be link between the old and the new, the tradition and the ICT. They will make new content by using the information about ¨the old˝ and putting it into ˝the new˝ by using different web tools and ICT. The project will help the teachers to experience new teaching methods, to improve their language competences and also their knowledge and understanding of ICT tools and gain more confidence in using modern means and methods in teaching, learning, and assessment. All our final products will be available to everyone on our project TwinSpace, blog and website. The expected results are: increased cultural awareness, increased quality of teaching in everyday class, improved motivation, digital and language skills and competences.
