Project Summary

Developing entrepreneurial competence is a key EU policy objective, which has been introduced in many recent policy documents including the Entrepreneurship Action Plan 2020 (EC, 2013), the New Skills Agenda for Europe (EC, 2016) and the Council Recommendation on Key Competences (EC, 2018),
Evidence suggests that developing entrepreneurial mindsets is a key ingredient of endogenous growth, and a must for sustainable local and regional development and social cohesion. There is growing evidence of the positive impact of entrepreneurship education. Young people going through these programmes will develop more entrepreneurial attitudes, get a job earlier after finishing their studies and start more companies, thereby creating more jobs.
In the European reference framework ‘Entrepreneurship and a sense of initiative’ is one of eight key competences for lifelong learning which citizens require for their personal fulfilment, social inclusion, active citizenship and employability in a knowledge-based society.
The EU social economy, according to the EC, has employed more than 11 million people, about 6% of the active workforce: out of these, 26% are employed in social enterprises. Meanwhile, employment in social enterprises increased by 8%, which is also a promising start to tackle unemployment and poor working conditions . Education and training are key drivers in this process. All students should have access to entrepreneurship education, which should be offered in all types and at all levels of education. Teachers and schools are key agents: an individual’s chances of receiving good quality entrepreneurship education has depended mainly on the enthusiasm of teaching staff and their ability to secure the right resources. Teachers have a critical role to play in the development of entrepreneurship education.The need to have a curriculum is one of the key factors of the lack of the entrepreneurship education.The education system, and in particular the school curricula, do not focus enough on entrepreneurship and do not provide the skills which entrepreneurs need.However,there is no current national strategy for entrepreneurship education (EE) in Turkey.,Poland and Italy , Spain and Portugal on the national level.

We aim to build a system that ultimately enables all students to receive high quality entrepreneurship education that they can use at every stage of the educational process to develop social entrepreneurship competencies with 4 secondary schools from Spain,Poland,Italy, and Portugal with a non profit organisations from Turkey in 24 months
45 students will be trained with 3 blended mobility of school learners and 20 teachers in 2 joint staff trainings embedded with MOOCs. Through the events the students will get the opportunity to receive social entrepreneurship trainings that they can not receive as a cross curricular activity at their respective learning environments.
Aims:
To stimulate innovative and entrepreneurial mindsets among students by introducing
entrepreneurship as a key competence in school curricula, particularly in general secondary
education and ensure that it is correctly reflected in teaching material;
ensure that the importance of entrepreneurship is correctly reflected in education systems
to design and develop a new model of entrepreneurship education boosting social innovation and social entrepreneurial skills in young people within the School education system in Europe.

As a result of the project there will be a need analysis achieved among the school teachers and a curriculum developed in the frame of the need analysis.Two joint staff trainings will provide the teachers to acquire social entrepreneurship competencies to use in their respective teaching environment.Three blended mobilites will provide students to receive social entrepreneurship education by the teachers experiences gained from the joint staff trainings .Also a set of activities (toolkit) to used by teachers in schools for the development of the entrepreneurial mindsets of pupils will be developed.
The methodology of the project will be of great importance as Gamification will be integrated in the project activities.
Entrepreneurship education will also contribute to a general development of greater understanding of business and of entrepreneurs and of more positive attitudes in the wider population to entrepreneurship.Each project partner will bring building blocks for the combined curriculum and process methodologies.As a result the students will have acquired methods for learning giving them a competitive advantage for moving forward in life in the long run.

The project will also offer the possibility to build up assessment, validation and recognition processes, which are scarce at the moment within entrepreneurship education
