Project Summary
Teachers prepare students for the future. The future that will be very much different from our world today because of the inarguable fact that computers have become pivotal in our society. From our cars and thermostats to pacemakers and cellphones, computers are everywhere. Therefore it is our job to help students create a better understanding of computer science by helping them acquire necessary skills and discover new tools. According to that we need to rethink and innovate our educational methods and develop new courses and practices.
Some of the biggest changes in the future will take place on the job market with many jobs disappearing and many more yet to be discovered, especially in the field of new technologies. Our project aspires to explore and investigate future jobs in Europe, enables students to learn about future job profiles and develop technical and non-technical skills required for them. This project is different because it includes programs which are not included in our school curricula but we think they should be a part of it.
Partnership of Slovenian and Finnish school will bring together 13 students from both countries, their parents, teachers, school staff, local communities and various field experts. Over the period of two years, we will organise four meetings, two in each country. The final meeting will be a Science fair summarising all the previous work. We will discuss, exchange, learn, research, create and present our knowledge and experiences.
The key methodology in carrying out the project will include project work, presentations, workshops and ICT based methodology.
Students will get to know future jobs and the technology impact on employment. They will improve and learn ICT skills, non-technical skills and foreign languages. They will also gain transnational collaboration experience. Schools and teachers will deepen the ongoing cooperation and strengthen the cooperation with local community and local companies.
Our project will benefit all of its participants by creating opportunities to learn, exchange ideas, organise events and innovate educational methods. Our project will share its results on different platforms. Our project will prepare us all for the future.
