Project Summary

Too often we see children and adults who misuse or abuse technology without being sure what they are doing. The problem is not so much what users do not know, but what is considered the appropriate use of technology.
Parents point out that children spend a lot of time spending their time on the tablet and have violent behavior. On the other hand, parents are not aware of the risks to children who use the tablet in excess and without the guidance of the adult; I do not know about the existence of parental control solutions; use the tablet as a reward / punishment system; offers children tablet the lack of knowledge of other activities they can carry out with children.
Children use the tablet to have fun; existing educational content is considered unattractive and boring; the tablet is used because they do not know other variants of spending their free time in the family; do not use digital technology for kindergarten, not being encouraged by educators in this direction.
Teachers pointed out that there is not enough digital educational content; there are no tablets in kindergartens; there are no courses or guides to guide the teacher in using the tablet as an educational tool; says that the tablet used as an educational tool in kindergarten would increase the quality of the didactic act.
The motivation of the project lies in the desire to change the current perception of tablets as they are not considered an educational tool but just a means of entertainment. Instead, they could become the subject of teacher trainings and an efficient learning tool.
The objectives of the project are: Creating a learning environment to acquire digital skills and integrate them in the educational process using tablets for 70 teachers, 1000 preschoolers and 1000 parents; Raising the number of beneficiaries who use the tablet as an efficient learning tool (teachers: from 7 to 68-88%; children: from 250 to 950-70%); Increasing parents’ awareness of the safe use of modern technology (from 250 parents to 950- 70%) until August 31, 2022 as compared to September 1, 2020
We want to be a road openers through this project, open sources for digital citizens of the future. This would involve: provision of child-friendly devices and educational content, teacher training for the use of these tabletes, parenting courses. It is important to change the perception of digital technologies so that they are considered an educational tool – not just one that offers fun.
According to specialists, for tablet to not become a bad thing, a barrier or a problem generator, it is vital to find a balance in its use. Parents will
learn through technology-based parenting courses to establish rules for the use of digital devices in terms of time and duration, to engage in children’s
activities, and to encourage them to have physical activity, work manually and play.
The use of the tablet in didactic activity increases teaching performance, encourages innovation / modernization of the teaching process, facilitates
understanding of phenomena by children, promotes cooperative learning, develops teamwork skills, allows individualized, personalized learning, opens up digital content, as traditional methods are not replaced but completed; has an impact both in the learning and evaluation process and in motivating students to permanently enrich their learning.
The most important reason for using these mobile devices is their mobility, and they can be used in any classroom, and for out-of-school activities
(extracurricular). For example, in literacy, the teacher has taught classical methods, letter A. At the end of the activity, children will use tablets to
photograph objects in the yard of the kindergarten that begin with sound A. Also in a mathematical activity, can photograph red-colored objects; to a
science activity can photograph insects discovered in a particular living environment; can learn the technique of arranging the meal and translate it into practice.
The tablet allows students to be autonomous and active in the learning-assessment process. Once a child is initiated into the use and learning of tablet functions, he discovers books, music, games and many educational applications that help him develop his vocabulary and general culture, math skills and many other useful skills for the development of intelligence. If used appropriately and with measure, the tablet can prove to be an important asset in child’s education. Good practice guides will develop a network of future users and will be enriched with the subsequent experience. The kindergarten-school continuity is a fundamental factor in the further development of the children, and in the case of a 5/6 partner there are relationships of continuity in the institutional plan, in the continuous plan and in the methods.
