Project Summary

The latest data published by the COP25, as well as the SDGs and the latest events in the world tell us that we must, now more than ever, act in schools by carrying out actions that sensitize students to the need of sustainable development, respect and commitment to our planet. With this association Ka229 we will practice the languages that are being studied, we will start learning others, we will share methodologies, works, activities, results. We will improve our didactics by sharing good practices among the different teachers. We will also be able to get to know each other better and promote the union of European countries. It will also improve relations with local institutions and also the relations of the different members of the School Community of each of the participating centers.
Climate it’s us is a project that will last two years and in which 6 countries will participate. The coordinating country, the IES León Felipe in Getafe, has been working for many years on European projects and Etwinning. It is also an ECOschool (as Glina School in Croatia and Intergrierte Geesamtschule in Germany) and beneficiary of an Erasmus + project that ends this school year. The 1st Artemida Gymnasium, which started with Erasmus projects last year, is also part of this team and wants to continue with the dynamics generated in a school when this type of project is developed. The Collège St. Rémi in France and the Intergrierte Gesamtschule from Germany will start this year with an association of this type. The IC Carmagnola in Italy is an expert on Erasmus projects and on Etwinning and have a very clear perspective of the coexistence of industrial and rural environments. They also know about historical, economic and cultural causes of climate change
New schools, veteran schools, urban and rural, form the association that will enrich our project and our vision of the chosen theme.
The activities that will be carried out during the two years and that will allow to achieve the proposed objectives will be of different nature: management activities in each of the schools such as meetings, the Erasmus club with the students, the preparation of the training activity and teaching-learning activities during the mobility week, which will energize and open the school to new activities in which the entire school community will participate, also the activities that each teacher will be able to carry out: in Arts and Crafts, Ethics, Biology, History-Geography , History of Art, Languages, Economics, Literature, Music, Technology… It is important a coordination of the teachers of the partners’ work teams and an exhaustive planning of each action so that the expected results are achieved. In this sense, Twinspace plays a fundamental role. Activities with other schools will allow peer learning, acquisition of good practices through the exchange and evaluation of activities carried out. The formation of groups of “international” students in recycling and art workshops, of music, of literary creation will allow students to act as ambassadors of new methodologies and will allow students enrich themselves and understand that we are already in a globalized world in which mobility is natural, with successful language learning and teamwork. The use of Etwinning will allow us to have a secure platform on which to manage, organize, program, share and see the creations of the students. The expected results are as follows: logo of the project through a contest administered on Twinspace, presentations and videos to raise awareness about the need to take care of our environment, to protect the climate through individual and collective actions, creation of questionnaires on ecological habits and an audit at the beginning of the project that will allow us to see what has been the evolution and impact of our work at the end of the two years because in 2022 there will be another, informative presentations on environmental problems, problems, causes, effects and solutions on climate change exposed in the schools for greater impact and disseminated through the web, Twinspace and the results platform, contest: “Green Heroes” to produce a story that will be published in an ebook format, ellaboration of a decalogue, creation of an online game, planting trees and works of art with recycled material made by everyone (Art-ECO), Climate it’s us anthem and dance. The impact and benefits will be enormous on the partner schools: greater awareness of the importance of the planet problems, ecological and responsible behaviour and the important role of man on the planet. Besides, greater interest in languages, the use of NICTs to spread knowledge and information, online actions, European values, openness to Europe, learning among equals, new methodology, greater realtionships with local institutions, more interdisciplinarity and greater coexistence at schools, twinning of schools, continuity of actions on the environment will all be promot.
