Project Summary
We have a rapidly increasing need to build on our knowledge of digitization, integration, and children’s participation and influence. In a world that is constantly changing in everything from future school, career choice and a rapidly growing globalization, where digitization provides endless possibilities and a responsibility. We need more knowledge to meet our children in the digital environment.
The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child becomes Swedish law in 2020, where the rights of the children are strengthened. How does the development in other countries work and how do their ideas and ideas go and how can we, through collegial exchange with another European country, strengthen and share our knowledge.
Even in issues such as integration, we need to share our experiences and knowledge as the whole of Europe meets a constant refugee stream with many different levels of knowledge and cultural differences. In a society where many children move through Europe, we need to strengthen integration in order to strengthen a sustainable society and sustainable development over time. There are many completely new issues that arise daily and we certainly have every need to take part of each other’s working methods and solutions.
Together with educators from Estonia and Sweden, all with different conditions and environments, find good and sustainable ways to keep up with the development in order to best strengthen the children’s opportunities to meet a globalized and digital school, everyday life and work in a future like everything faster change. To make the preschool as responsive and flexible as possible so that it can follow the development and not walk in old tracks.
How do we increase children’s participation and influence over their environment at the preschool, get them to see the information flow with open eyes and teach them to distinguish facts from lies. Tomorrow’s challenges are something we must work with today.
Our idea is to see and learn on site via seminars / lectures and workshops to increase understanding and insight into how the two countries work with digitization, integration, participation, influence and also the environment. An exchange between the countries where educators are given the opportunity to study each other’s solutions and handling these issues. What software they use and how they work with the children to get them to creative users. The goal is to make the children active producers and to communicate between the preschools via image, animation, sound and video. To carry out joint projects despite the distance, to participate in each other’s activities and to build a common platform for learning. At the same time as the teachers participate in a shared exchange of experience, methods and advice.
By meeting 6 pedagogues and 1 principals from each country to compare the different preschools where the pedagogy differs, but still complies with the goal, changing experience, participating in activities, workshops, discussions between the different participants for different methods and solutions.
All countries have different conditions and many are at different levels of digitization, we see an opportunity to be able to help each other, and others.
One possibility is to build up a knowledge bank / contact network where the countries that need to move forward in their development can seek information and different methods to get children to use the digital possibilities in a good way. This through e.g. eTwinning where more people have the opportunity to take part of our experiences and different projects. There are not so many platforms for preschools and we assume that we are not alone in trying to find practical solutions. One is to have digital educators at the preschools who are responsible for a constant updating and training of the staff is carried out regularly and to keep track of the common objectives that are being developed and implemented. And that our digital accounting on eTwinning follows the patterns we decided on.
