Project Summary

The “Competent trainer – safe senior. Exchanging of good practices for effective adult education 55+” is the answer for the needs of educators and seniors over the age of 55 from 5 partner organizations from Poland, Slovakia, Portugal, Romania, and France.
The project’s goal is to broaden and expand the competences of our organizations’ educators and other employees in regards to the institutions’ educational character for seniors.
We want to lead to an increase in the number of known and used methods, tools, approaches, and solutions during work with seniors by the means of exchanging knowledge, experiences and attitudes between the educators. In the present project we focus on safety of the seniors over the age of 55, including their cybersafety, self-defense skills, and skills of dealing with legal and official documents.
The type of planned actions has simultaneously the goal of counteracting the social exclusion of this age group.
The project’s participants are 15 educators instructing seniors in activities such as: self-defense classes, training in safe usage of information and communication technologies as well as the internet resources, teaching skills regarding analysis of legal and official documents.
The other group participating in the project is 250 seniors attending aforementioned activities.
The project’s goals are:
1) accomplishing the transfer of knowledge and skills between the 15 educators of seniors over the age of 55, who in their respective partner institutions are responsible for educating in said areas
2) attaining new methodic and pedagogic skills, exploring new approaches, methods, tools and ways of work by the 15 employees participating in the project (3 from each institution)
3) usage competences by the project’s participants in everyday work in said areas
4) developing the products of the project by the participants in the form of methods, classes scenarios, outlines, teaching materials, educational materials, video tutorials etc. in both mother tongues and English and then publishing them on Erasmus+ Project Results Platform and other spaces on the internet, so that they can be used to further share the knowledge and skills
5) participations of a total of 250 seniors in five-day-long activities connected with learning, study, and training taking place in each partner organization to the effect of broadening, and expanding competences regarding the participants’ safety, and stirring senior over the age of 55 to action, their social participation, and promotion of lifelong learning (informal one, in this case)
6) including members of different generations in the activities described in point no. 5 – from children, through the youth, and to young adults – in order to promote intergenerational learning, and also increasing social awareness of seniors, so as to prevent their social exclusion
7) increasing the activity rate, self-esteem, safety, and social inclusion of seniors of the age of 55
Apart from aforementioned results in a material form, we also expect
1) increase of competences in the area of concern to the project among the 15 educators participating in the project
2) increase of competences in the area of concern to the project among at least 200 of 250 seniors participating in the project
3) increase of safety in said areas among at least 200 project participants
4) increase of the feeling of social inclusion among at least 200 project participants
5) increase of self-esteem among at least 200 seniors participating in the project
6) increase of the feeling of activity among at least 200 seniors participating in the project
7) attaining and/or strengthening by at least 250 people from the generations of children, the youth, and young adults:
– conviction of the positive value of intergenerational learning
– conviction of the importance of seniors as a group co-composing the society
– conviction of the positive value of lifelong learning
8) deepening international cooperation between the employees of the participating organizations
9) increasing language competences of project participants (educators, attendees)
10) improvement of skills of cooperation of project participants (educators, attendees)
11) development of personbal competences (educators, attendees)
The project’s results will be presented as a part of informational activities inside our organizations, as well as to adult educators from other organizations both in our countries and in different countries.
