In the context of the European Union’s aim to support the transformation and improvements of Europe’s higher education systems, the European Commission held an online stakeholder consultation meeting with members of the Erasmus+ Knowledge Alliances on June 3rd, 2021. The purpose of the event was to collect different views, ideas and inputs from university and business representatives on practical and sustainable solutions to address some of the key challenges for both, higher education institutions (HEIs) and also enterprises. Its results will nurture the “European Strategy for Higher Education” which the European Commission plans to present at the end of 2021/beginning of 2022.

This meeting was preceded by a consultation survey, where participants had the possibility to answer different questions regarding important issues in educational transformation as well as topics, which the responsible representatives find difficult to address within their organizations.

The survey’s findings are demonstrated in Figure 1:

The detailed results of the survey can be found here, as well as the meeting’s report here.

On behalf of EICAA, our partners Ester Bernadó (TecnoCampus) and EICAA coordinator Florian Bratzke (Univations) participated in the conference, as mentioned earlier on the EICAA Social Media channels (see Figure 2).

With EICAA aiming to capture and foster the wider entrepreneurial competence profiles of learners within academia and industry, the project’s relevance in addressing the issues the conference was focussing on is described by Florian Bratzke in the following statement:

“Our project EICAA is rooted on the idea that entrepreneurial competence portfolios of learners inside and outside higher education need to be better assessed to be improved efficiently and needs based. We were pleased to find high recognition for the relevance of our project rationale during the EACEA Meeting on the Transformation of Higher Education in the EU. After all, the prospect of making a real impact is what motivates us to passionately work on the implementation of EICAA.”
