Project Summary
CONNECTING DOTS is a proposal from Youropía Cultural Association for the extraordinary call for Erasmus +: “Development of skills and inclusion through creativity and the arts.” It counts with the participation of the Hungarian National Museum and the Belgrade Center for Human Rights.
Each entity will have a cultural / youth association or museum / gallery / cultural space to support the implementation of activities, in a way that complements and enriches their proposals.
The general idea of the project consists of bringing cultural spaces and museums closer to the young public, reinforcing community work. Therefore, target group for the actions, will be the young population and also organizations and professionals in the youth and cultural fields.
Based on this, we have established the following aims and objectives:
General –
– Assist in the recovery of the cultural and creative sectors by promoting community cooperation;
– Promote new models of cooperation between the cultural sector and the youth field;
– Promote the active participation of young people in the cultural spaces of their cities.
Specific –
– Promote the exchange of good practices on the implementation of activities in order to attract young audiences to cultural spaces;
– Promote the acquisition of skills that reinforce the creativity of youth and culture professionals;
– Promote cultural spaces as daily spaces for the local youth community;
– Promote innovative activities, based on non-formal education, that break with the routines of cultural spaces;
– Create and strengthen an international cooperation network that addresses issues related to youth and culture.
CONNECTING DOTS will take place between June 2021 and May 2022. In addition to generating a network of contact, support and collaboration with local entities, the international work will focus on the creation of 18 activity proposals (6 per entity) that can help attracting young people to museums (using different disciplines such as theater, photography, art, etc.). Among these proposals, each partner must take 12 into practice, so that a series of recommendations and adaptations that can be replicated by other entities and / or sectors are generated.
These are the different phases of the project:
Preparation:
June 2021 – design of visibility measures (platforms, project image, guidelines for visibility, etc.); contact with the local community (“Connecting dots around the corner”); collaboration plan with support entities; establishment of reference persons for communication and work on the project; preparation of the Kick off meeting.
Implementation (“Connecting dots international”):
July and August 2021: Face-to-face meeting between partners, in Serbia; work on the development of 6 proposals for activities per organization to attract young people to museums / cultural spaces.
September, October, November 2021: Implementation of 2 workshops per month (of the partners’ proposals); Sharing of results on virtual platforms – visibility of actions.

January, February and March 2022: Implementation of 2 workshops per month (of the proposals of the partners); Sharing of results on virtual platforms – visibility of actions.
